Football would be ****e if it operated on a best team won policy. Chelsea won the Champions League, anyone who tries to cheapen that by saying 'Barca are this or Madrid/Munich that' is losing the very most basic principal of the game. Chelsea are deservedly European Champions, they achieved that by beating every team they had put in front of them. It's a fantastic sport because there are different ways to win a match. CL winners 2012 Chelsea end of. The whole "yeah but team a,b or c are better bullshit" got left in the school yard down here.
Barca are a great team to watch and I really don't like Chelsea but they were the better team over 2 legs. Barca kept the ball, Chelsea won the match.

I see Sparks has replied to Leeds answer to Stephen Hawkins so I'll leave that.

Very true. Apart from Leeds fans of course who admit to their team playing hoofball under Warnock

I think in fairness our lot have tried to be as honest as possible when talking about your own team.

Over the course of the season Cardiff have shown that they can go 10 points clear at the top of the league.

However, I bet the rest of the top 6 would really fancy their chances to beat you in any match.

What makes you a better side? The ability to win one game or as many as possible over 46? Obviously the latter.

Well mate, you've all tried and failed so far with the exception of Palace up there when we blew a 2 goal lead and we've beaten them since.

Better luck next time is it then, eh?

That's exactly what I said wasn't it? - also we've beaten them since in the return at the CCS.

What about the others in the top 6 you've mentioned then? Leicester, Hull, Watford and Middlesbrough.

    Played 4 won 4 I make it.

BTW, I'd much rather talk football and even disagree over it than deal with a knobhead from Leeds. <ok>

What did I say? 'Fancy their chances' or something along those lines.

We absolutely battered you and you had around one shot and scored. I know 'that's football' but I would say that Leicester, Hull, Middlesbrough and Palace would all be favourite to beat you, in my eyes. Just because I think they've got a better quality of players in their team.

However, as is outlined by the table, you have a better mentality of being able to grind out results.

Put it this way, i'd much rather be in your shoes.

Hey Andy baby - it's one thing "fancying your chances", but quite another converting it into reality.

You say Hull, Watford and Middlesbrough (I'll leave you out of it for a minute) have got better players than us.

I'll just put our back four up first - Connolly, Hudson, Turner, Taylor - which of those three clubs have better?

I would love to see us play at 90 mph all game and win 6-0, but I'll take what we're getting and be grateful that we're top and enjoying the ride.

As you say, I bet there are plenty who would swap places.

Fosse - I gave up the cowboy boots in favour of wellies - you obviously know the reason why. <ok>

This is what i'm trying to say! <laugh>

What's the point in going at 90mph and beating Ipswich 6-0 when you can't beat Barnsley at home or Charlton away?

Everyone wants to be in Cardiff's shoes and that, for me, is why you're the best team in the league.

Are you serious or just wumming ? I may tend to agree with you if the gap is still 10 points at the end of March.

For the record, Craig Bellamy said on Sky sports super sunday(last) that the league is far from won. He is correct in saying that.

I thought with Blackpool, Leeds and Huddersfield away Cardiff would be doing well if they got 5 points from those games but they've already picked up six and have Huddersfield next who I expect them to beat and with only Boro, Watford and Hull away and us at home I can't see them dropping too many points, not enough to let a 10 point gap slip so yes i'm serious.

Of course anything can happen but as well as Cardiff dropping points, the chasing pack need to pick up maximum points which again isn't always going to happen. We've got Derby, Forest, Palace and Cardiff all away so I certainly expect us to drop some points in those games. Hull have Palace away, Watford, Boro and Cardiff at home so again I expect points to be dropped. For either Leicester or Hull to catch Cardiff we need to take maximum points in those games and hope that Cardiff drop points, it's a tall ask I think.

If you go to bed tonight and there's a tub of Vaseline on her bedside cabinet I'd prepare yourself for a rough night.

That's just standard football player talk, he's hardly going to say that they've already won the league and no way will anyone catch them.

It's like when someone scores a hat trick, and they get interviewed after, they always have to say "it's not about me, the whole team played well, as long as the team wins it doesn't matter who scores". When, inside, they're clearly thinking "Yehhh, scored a hat trick, I'm amazing!!!"

We'll find out about Leicester when you come to ours, the one issue I have with the 'we smashed you but missed the chances and you robbed us' argument is that goals change football matches. If you'd equalised we would have responded, maybe, maybe not. No one knows because you didn't. I've never seen a group of fans place so much weight of evidence on a 1-0 defeat! We might have changed tactics, no one knows!
As long as we led 1-0 we had something to hold, we're good at that. I'm sure Malky would have taken a draw at yours, we had a decent gap to you then. So even if you'd equalised it wouldn't have been a disaster.
Woods might have won you the game against us but who says you make those chances if he plays?

Like Sparks says I'd much rather argue about the game rather than where we live (because that's ******ed) but to keep declaring you're a better side than us because we beat you, but you missed your chances is bollocks.

On the subject of better players, Leicester have a couple I'd take but from the others it'd be Vydra, Koren, Hoyte and Haroun. Only Vydra would walk straight into the side IMO. I'll admit to not knowing Watfords starting 11 as well as others as it keeps changing!

    Not sure anybody has said we smashed you and got robbed, at the end of the day the stats speak for themselves;

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/20738186

and for all of our possession and missed opportunities, you scored one of the three chances you got on target and won the game, which to be fair is the sign of a team capable of winning the league. You're where you are in the league on merit, there really is no denying that and every opposing fan would want to be in your position right now, I just hope that we have now learnt to grind out results too, which if we can continue to combine that with our fast attacking style of football then I believe come May we will be promoted with Cardiff <ok>

Not much point talking about what would have happened had we equalised in the same sense that there is no point talking about what would have happened if instead of hitting the bar three times we'd gone 1-0 up while very much on top. Wood has made a huge difference, I just "wonder" what the table would look like if we'd him all season!!

Out of your team Hudson would be the only player that i'd say would be a cert for our first eleven, him and big Wes would be brilliant, not that we need Hudson of course because we already have the best defence in the league :emoticon-0105-wink:

I don't think anyone knows Watfords team/Udinese' reserves do they? ha ha :emoticon-0140-rofl:
