Let Mick McCarthy run the club, with a club secretary, let the board make major decisions, Marcus give the go ahead on transfer fees and wages. All that's needed is a club secretary!
Thank the Lord! Although I am concerned that ME is going to have a crack at holding his own purse strings.

Mixed views on this (as per usual some may add). Whilst I'm not overly dissapointed with Cleggs depature who had an abject failure of being able to have a connection with the fans, he seemed pretty aloof to criticism, I'm slightly concerned about where this now leaves us! When I first saw the news I though great, in excitement of who we might get in, someone with a bit of a football knowledge and perhaps more importantly IMO someone outside of the ME inner circle as it were. But now I see 2 Board members will take up the mantle, again I thought great we'll have 2 members with ITFC in their blood but they're actually just from the ME inner circle. So I fail to see how this will make a great deal of difference really. I geuss it makes sense in a way part of me always thought Clegg was just a puppet doing what ME asked, so what was the point especially as ME appears to have got more involved in recent seasons, now you've just cut out the middleman. For me I have understood the need for ME to be private and I actually think it's a pretty admirable thing to want to have but now surely is the time he needs to become a figure head. On the plus side of it Clegg did not seem very personable whereas everythin I have heard and seen ME appears to be that, with previous employees including the managers and some of the players saying this to be the case
I don't think it matters that an MD has no football background as long as they don't get involved in footballing decisions.
You can't draw a parallel with any of those clubs. Nothing wrong with Chelsea or Saints anyway. Were the Cobbolds former footballers? Come off it...
Benitez was a bad appointment but I don't think Chelsea fans are complaining about all the trophies they've won in Abramovic's time. Southampton have leapt two divisions and although he hasn't won yet, Pochettino's side completely outclassed and outplayed Everton. Those two clubs are not a bad template. You don't mention Pompey, Birmingham, QPR or Villa. All those clubs are or have been foreign owned by people who are here today and gone tomorrow, so it's a completely different to our situation. Who exactly do you want to run our club? Shall we take a leaf out of Newcastle's book and have someone like Dennis Wise to interfere? These two have a long working relationship with Evans so it makes a lot more sense to me than the previous arrangement.
Clegg had no real power! He was just the lacky for Evans, the goffer, the public face of the club! Magilton was sacked 2 days after Clegg joined. Do you honestly believe that this wasn't decided long before Clegg arrived? The only possible decision that Clegg ever took by himself was to repaint the turnstiles! In retrospect I think Clegg was given a raw deal and I count myself amongst them but its no good in just blaming the oil rag for all our ills when in reality most of the big decisions are taken by the engine driver!
Deleted I think you've been smoking something funny the past week or so!! I don't necessarily think it should've been someone with footballing knowledge I mean indeed what knowledge did Sheepshanks and the Cobbolds have on football?? Some people also with a footballing knowledge I wouldn't want anywhere near a position like that. However it would be ideal if we could've appointed someone with a good record as a member of backroom staff in football. But really what I'd like to see more than that is not someone who is in the ME inner circle, again we have people who it seems to me will just relay ME's decisions rather than perhaps someone who would have the authority to convince ME on what decisions to make and also it would be good yes to have business men in charge but also someone who supports the club. Plus we really need a figurehead for the club and someone who is much more addept at communicating with the fans than Clegg, I hope ME will finally step up to the mantle!! I don't see how this situation will be overly different to Clegg running the club affairs.
