I would never go as far as to call him a liar but I am suspicious of his motives of so desperately wanting to buy in to an English football club. I have no idea of what his motives are but I would hazard a guess that in among them would be to possibly find his way in to getting a slot in at Heathrow Airport for Air Asia. I have always perceived him of being a media junky and attention seeker, not quite so much in recent months I must admit and while that is not necessarily a bad trait it does make me wonder just how good he actually is in business and how much of it is 'hype'.

He is probably a very likable guy if met socially but incredibly naive and a little like a child in a candy store type of presence in the transfer market that managers and agents love to deal with and take full advantage.

I think that's pretty much spot on Thai. I don't think for a minute we'll do a Pompey or anything like that but a period of stability wouldn't go amiss.

Oh to be boring like you lot. You sure you don't want to play a part is 'Survival Sunday' this season??

Why should the way in which QPR conducts itself be rewarded with survival.

I'm hoping them going down sends a message that that way of running a football club is finally, mercifully, coming to an end.

I hope every club being run like QPR goes down/bust. I had zero sympathy for rangers or Pompey.

Have to agree. But doubt it would stop clubs unless a massive club suddenly went under. Have a little sympathy with the fans of those clubs but most certainly not those who run them. It is a sad state of affairs where for many clubs they neglect the long term for short term greed. Sadly this could be said for many things in the current culture.

They are already working around financial rules with sponsorship etc.

It's them and us though. ManU have always spent money and always will.

Just hope we are a new breed of debt free co-operative football clubs and we use the money we earn on the pitch to develop football in the region.

Bit more noble than "Lets buy a no-mark club in west London and **** about with it"

Yeah I guess he thought to himself, "Money's not important to me. I want an opportunity commensurate with my ability - I know, I'll go to QPR - they're in 20th position and likely to be relegated - that will look good on my CV."

That's all the incentive he would need, right ?

Rangers fans - and this isn't a WUM.

Surely you can't be happy about what is happening to your club. QPR used to be a bit like us - a club most neutrals liked and felt a bit of a soft spot for. Tight ground, good bunch of supporters, underdogs who almost did something big in the days when Liverpool won the league every year. Now there is an awful lot of negative feeling towards them, and not just from us. I think supporters of most clubs would be happy to see you lot go down.

Pardon the intrusion gentleman but I just couldn't help looking at a QPR related thread seeing as I know you love them as much as we do.

On their board they have a thread about what posters they don't like. Now it looks like I'm public enemy number 1 over there (proud of it too) and there's two other Swans posters named too. Just thought I'd mention that quite a few of you lot being named too. So in light of this being a QPR related thread I'd just like to say how gutted I was you only got a draw with the buggers, I was hoping you'd win 10-0.

Good luck for the season lads I rate this and the Toon boards as the best on here

there's a couple of their fans on here that are ok, but i think 90% of the PL fans don't like QPR.

To be fair, to most Rangers supporters, they love their club. And they probably thought Xmas had arrived with Fernandes. Just in the same way that I dare say many on here would have taken Cullum's money a few years ago.
Hindsight is a wonderful thing of course and for many it is too late.
Luckily, NCFC appear to be over the worst. But we have been close on several occasions to being in the mire. I remember the blanket being taken round Carrow Road, I remember the Supporters Club bailing the club out time after time. I remember Delia bailing us out. And we can all remember the close call five years ago.
We can be smug for now and I dare say relegation wouldn't be the end of the world for us. We aren't out to impress the world. We have had the mickey taken out of us for so long that we are immune to what any aspiring wannabe says and no doubt next season when Cardiff join us in the Prem with their foreign owners there will be more of what we are witnessing now.
Whoever said it has to come to an end is correct. But of course we know it will probably get worse before it finally does come crashing down.

Is a fair comment and you are probably right, in most cases about Cullum but why do football fans in general go along with blind faith in a person they may have only vaguely heard of before but actually know nothing about? Most people in the UK are not religious, something based on faith so why football?

That is probably a better analogy than you realise.A club is wandering in the wilderness of The Championship or League 1 and along comes this Messiah who says :"Follow me,for verily I will lead you to the land of milk and honey". And lo,they listen unto him.And they do follow him the length and breadth of the land from Sid James Park to St Mary's. And after their many travails they do arrive at the land of milk and honey. The scales fall from their eyes and they look up and read the sign: Brunton Park

I think all of us want what is best for our club and if the "Messiah" turns up you have to take him at face value. Obviously our recent Messiah wasn't a giga rich owner but Macca who had the nous to turn this club around and persuade our owners to stick around.
