In a couple of other threads we have touched on Dejagah's performances, with varied opinions. Here is a video clip concentrating on his contribution in the United game - http://www.pfdctv.com/?p=6968 I don't know about you but I'm back to championing him. PS This clip, although obviously highly edited, shows how unlucky we were. It's much better than the official (ie BBC) version and well worth a watch.
Dejagah didn't play bad at all against Utd. He gave them a lot of trouble and combined well up front. His weakness is he shooting ability. Needs to practice more...
He gets derided for his lack of defensive ability but as an attacking midfielder I don't think that's entirely fair. His downfalls are all common in wingers (lack of end product, not releasing the ball quick enough), so you would hope it's an area he'll improve on. I think he's been a decent signing.
For some reason I am unable to get the Link working above, it goes to the page but no Video appears !!! I'd really love to see this, because as far as I am concerned, having Dejagah in the team causes us defensive problems. From my seat in the Riverside he lacks any tackling ability, he just seems to allow players past him too easily when defending and tackling. I watch a lot of German football and what I saw of him, he can be much better than we have seen.
Works okay for me SuperBri. Really is woth looking at, so here's the link again (click on the top photo of Dejagah) - http://www.pfdctv.com/?p=6968
No still doesn't work all I get is a one line write up, clicked on other videos on the site and all I get is a write up. no video. Am using Firefox, all other sites videos like BBC and Eurorivals work for me but this site loads but does not show me the video !!!
Agreed. Dejagah is an ATTACKING WINGER. His job is to attack down the right hand side, take on players and put the ball into the box, which I think he does pretty well, especially the first two. He is a much better option than Kaca at the moment, who seems to have gone off the boil a bit.
I think Dejagah has something that Jol wants from his players - ball control. When in possession he is very comfortable with the ball. He is adapting to life in the prem pretty well. He has bags of potential and is keen and energetic. He does however need to do some work on his final ball, too many times against Utd he did all the hard work of getting passed his player but then cut back inside when a ball into the box would have been the better option. He did give Evra, a quality full back, a torrid time. I think he is good quality signing that will only improve with time in the premiership.
