That directed at me? I was just saying, you've got the contrast between Mclaren and their huge technical centres and Caterham launching it in the pits at Jerez <laugh>

Hahaha, fair enough. I wanted to understand you but I couldn't tell what you were on about. You never know about Caterham, might catch the TR's.

As a Caterham fan, I really want to see them (and Marussia really) finally become members of the midfield. For a start Q1 would be a lot more interesting, and a really tight midfield battle for 6th downwards in the constructors would be brilliant.

Really wanted them to do well in the past few years but now that they have got rid of Kovalainen and put a guy in who in his fourth year of GP2 could only muster 6th in the standings I do not care if they move up. For all the talk of Fernandes and co they have made very little progress in three years, not expecting an underwhelming line up of Pic and Van Der Garde to get them any further. Although maybe this is just me letting out my frustrations that I will only have two drivers to support this year with Heikki and Kobayshi gone!

I really don't know why they haven't kept an experienced driver to continue to develop the car. I liked Charles Pic last season, so he should be the younger driver, but kicking Kovaleinen and Petrov out was a bit unfair.

What's this Giedo van der Garde bloke done anyway? A career best of 5th overall in GP2, 3rd overall in GP2 Asia and 6 F1 free practice sessions. I guess he used his 5 years in GP2 to generate enough money to buy a Caterham race seat.....

Anyone else spotted that the three Renault-powered cars unveiled so far (with Williams still yet to come) have step noses?

    oh dear....

Gary Anderson: "While Marussia launched a basic car that will be updated, the Caterham has all the development parts on it already. It looks a bit boxy, to be honest. In fact, I've heard the word "ugly" bandied about. A lot of the new cars are nice-looking but the Caterham really isn't. I don't really understand some of the thinking, either. They have adopted a McLaren-style exhaust, blowing it at the area between the floor and the rear wheels for enhanced downforce. But most teams also use aerodynamically shaped rear brake ducts to enhance the effect and while the Caterham has them, the turning vanes are all behind a big air intake for brake cooling, which most teams don't have because you don't need it - the rear brakes are under-used on an F1 car because Kers scavenges its power from that axle. So they're not making anywhere near as much use of that area as they could be."
