Just seen Pepe's mistake again? Seriously what was he doing? I'm not going to give Aguero that much credit... it was given to him on a plate.

As much as Downing has improved, he is now only up to 'squad player' level IMO. Do I think he'll get any better? Not really - he slows down the attack, afraid to take on the full back and create something.

The sooner we can get a player who can replace Downing and add another threat in the front 3 (hopefully Coutinho can but he will need time), the better. We've seen the impact of having Sturridge in attack now and all of a sudden, we have a more balanced threat.

Not sure all of these are correct - where did you get the info?

According to the stats on the BBC page:

    Reina - 6' 1 1/2''
    Johnson - 5' 11 1/2''
    Agger - 6' 1 1/2''
    Skrtel - 6' 1/2"
    Enrique - 6' 1/2'
    Gerrard - 6' 1"
    Henderson - 5'11 1/2"
    Lucas - 5' 8''
    Suarez - 5' 11 1/2''
    Sturridge - 6' 2''
    Downing - 5' 11''
    Carragher 6' 1"

I got them from the BBC pages - they were in metres so quickly amended to feet and didn't use 1/2's but even so, tallest player is Sturridge at 6'2'' according to yours and he's a CF who can't head...
Still proves the point that our keeper and defenders are not tall compared to others which doesn't help when trying to defend set pieces.

guys, thats not that short a team... i think we are a bit obessed with height. yes stelring and suso are small but lets eb frank 6 foot is average so you meet a 6 foot 4 type of guy once every 5 games or something and really you just get in bloody front!

lets look at coates v oldham... he was 61 5" but bottled the physicality, failed utterly to compete and get in fornt of the guy and negate the advantage in power.... skertlsteps in and mans up with the guy and competes despite the height disadvantage.

in the end the shortest player according to you is lucas... we are using balls out to full backs and that works intelligently rather than hoofs down the middle... or were before sturridge arrived.

I think we are "tall enough" and its really an issue that we let guys get free or ahead of us more than are too short. agger has let more guys just run off him while skertl pulls and drags and never lets a goal in. you must wonder what on earth agger thinks the game is about when he'll go made about some guy diving or who fouls him but then just doesn't compete enough himself... does he this playing fair is more improtant than winning?
