safe this season but what next

Well i cant see anything but safety this season even without a recognized striker but i cant see us bettering brendan's 11th place now. we may but its highly unlikely with the little fire power we have. Next season is going to make or break if we cant replace the players that are reported to be moving to other clubs. chico, ash,vorm and michu are almost certain to go so i hope we can bring in players that are as good if not better and we do it better than the fiasco in the window just gone where we left everything to late and the club must do the financial side of the business and not laudrup....If we get it wrong then it will be the beginning of the slippery slope so i hope the club and laudrup start to identify players now like our players have been identified by other clubs and we get in early to secure them...

Lets get over this transfer window before having to discuss another "silly season". Of course, we will need a striker...possibly 2,elsewhere we are are aready getting Canas it seems, and there will be others, but I really cant see all the players you quoted moving on.

Also, ML does not hold the full financial power of the Swans. You seem to be mistaken. He has more involvement than he did at Getafe and in Russia by identifying players, but can any person on here show me a single artlicle, let alone a direct quote which backs this idea of Dai's that he has sole control????

I can see where you`re coming from Dai. Our "recognised" striker only scored 3 goals in the league. We are better off than last season, so far, although we had a bit of a good run towards the end. We may better last season, we may not, whoopee, so long as we finish above 17th, I do not really care. I also do not care where God ends up at the end of the season.

Considering theres' still a third of the season left to play I'd say it's all a bit premature ,Dai what would have considered as being a successful season? , myself finishing top half and a cup final isn't shabby but then perhaps my ambitions are set a bit lower than most .

 

Ok lets discuss sensibly. Laudrup has always stated that the search for new players always goes on and that some deals are made through out the season. If you actually listen to the guy talk you will understand his position and the clubs position perfectly.

Who cares where we finish, arnt we always favourites to go down ? what real difference is it to us if we finish 10th 11 th 12 th or 17th its the players that lose out not the club as their bonus pot will be smaller.

Why do you think Vorm,Ash,Chico and Michu are certain to go ? what do you base this comment on ??

Why do you think that Laudrup is the guy holding the wallet at the club? what a strange thing to say when we have a board of directors and a chairman who's job it is to deal with the financial side of things, can you please explain why you think Laudrup has now taken over the financial control?


If you do not reply and debate these and other very reasonable points made then i will see this thread as a WUM and i will consider closing it ..over to you Dai

Some of these players came here for Laudrup not because they fancy Swansea as a place to live.

Dai you really do remind me of Homer in the boxing ring. Gets the **** kicked out of him yet still comes back for more. This season is far from over so it's a bit premature to worry about next.

And as FFS has said you're not helping yourself by going onto Liverpool's board and laughing at Swans fans. Why? Seems that every team is better than ours. You disliked Graham with a passion yet when Sunderland signed him he's great. Can't make you out at all, and you're rapidly running out of people who will fight your corner.

Well, its clear to see that Dai isnt intrested in debate.

 

Let me get this straight.

Last year we had a "recognised" striker, and all you did was slate him, saying how he was at AM at best.

This year, we sell said striker, we have a midfielder who has starred in the striker role and is in the top 5 scorers in the league, and we are in a better position than we were at the same point last year.

What pleases you?

And why oh why has Brendan come into this? He left. He has nothing to do with this club anymore so why would we need to "better" what he (The team actually) achieved last season.

Do enlighten me as to where Vorm, Ash, Chico and Michu are going.

From what I have read recently Michu is VERY happy here. Ash is our captain and I highly doubt he would want a move. Vorm has made no hint of wanting to leave, and neither has Chico. You seem to be forgetting that Michu ad Chico are here because of ML.....Why would they now go? Why would we sell? We wouldn't. We don't need to. We "should" have European football next year, why on earth would they want to leave!!!!
