No apologies needed mate. We're as one in our addictions to all things QPR but as human beings we're all cut from different cloth. Whilst the spectrum of opinion will vary greatly from rose tints like you to miseries like me and all points in between, I both appreciate and benefit from the modern ability to share my no doubt dubious thoughts with fellow Rs of all kinds. It so often affords a great release of frustration or euphoria. You often speak of standing your / our ground in terms of backing the Rs. The one time that happens is when we score. Unless we're well behind at the time, you won't see many remaining seated! What a feeling then eh?! Nothing quite like it. As you were old son!
PS - to DT. The Norwich game wasn't the turning point for me personally. Actually thought we put on a fair display and Norwich weren't as crap as some would suggest. Imo, the big dampener was the closure of the window and the realise we hadn't been able to get the tools (i.e. strike force) to cut it. Just my opinion and reason for my personal storm clouds I s'pose!
I said that based on our stadium capacity, facilities, lack of academy and attendances our natural position would be middle to lower Championship in the natural order of things. Same level as Bristol City more or less. Of course we have far more expensive and no doubt better players and we get vastly more TV money as of present but do not ever kid yourself that we aren't standing on the edge of the precipice right now. We are, with the possible exception of Wigan (who have a modern stadium with all that entails), by far the smallest club in the Premier League. It's the truth, no point burying one's head in the sand in denial. You want a big club? Go support The Scum up the road in that case.
I think this club can be anything we, and the owners, want it to be - small, big, dare I say boutique, local, global. There is no 'natural order', there is only ambition and realisation of that ambition. I'm not going to say we will achieve all of the dreams that are being set up, and were being talked about in the summer (now only in hushed tones of course). But I'm bloody glad we've got them. Quite surprised that you, Imaz, believe there is a fixed, unchangeable order about things. I like your revolutionary side more.
If Remy is out for 2 months, there is a chance he will be sold before he plays another game for us!. Who is going to suddenly get us enough goals to survive????.
I think we may need Betty and DJ next season if we go down. They are pony in this league but could still do the business for us in the championship
He did. And it turns out he was right. Team Spirit ain't summat you can bottle and all Tony's millions - though he thought he was doing right - can't buy that. The Swans and the Carrot heads did it the right way, it pains me to say.
It was a silly OP and that's why its been a successful thread! It generates discussion. You stumbled on a winning formula there old boy.
Emm kind of a back handed compliment but it will do fella I just like to gauge people's opinions, thread is kind out 60 / 40 against but I can live with that !
