What is happening this season is that the top sides are taking a bigger than usual share of the points leaving the rest with fewer to share out.Consequently the points total for survival is likely to be lower than previous seasons.Unfortunately the corollary to this is that lower teams find points harder to come by.I have forecast 36 as a survival total so you will need 5wins and 4 draws.
I see I have persuaded one or two that I am not entirely mad. Of course it is a mountain to climb. Wigan did it last year. We might be able to; even if it's only a small chance, it is worth fighting for, tooth and nail.
that all depends on what fulham shows up, we are so unpredictable, i could see a 1-0 rangers win, as well as a draw
Bloody hell. I had us finishing 17th with 34pts!! Reading, Villa and Wigan went down. I am crap at predicting results though!
I know you don't like predictors Col and we are all crap at predictions. The point of the exercise was to demonstrate that it is not at all impossible given the context of the league and the games the others have to play too. I've just got a feeling it may all come down to our result away at Liverpool!! I will be there if that is the case.
Very fair point mate. It brought home to me that we have played more top sides than the others and that they have tougher run ins. I got that result despite having us down to lose the next two games and away to Southampton!
I have us at 37 maybe one more win? Did you have the last Sunday down as a non event? My youngest and me both did it on our own I also suggest a thread that we could post up our screen shots final tables?
Didn't update the table till the end, but, yes, we were safe before the last game I think, which I had us down to lose. Lots to play for Dave, but Christ, we've got to find goals from somewhere!
Of course Col it matters not about these predictors we will all be wrong or we could be rich if we knew the outcomes. My point has always been the maths and the fixtures. City are going to have to thump few teams if they want to stand a chance and they are 9 off glory. We held them. For the record my prediction has us only getting one point from our next 9. As long as we keep building on the pitch they will come. I think all games from now on in will be close. I also think that Norwich and WBA may be the division sinkers and are drawn into a big battle. I can't see us lying down now ... I can't. We need the fight to get the best out the team.
God damn it. I have us just missing out by one point: 17th: Wigan 36 18th: QPR 35 19th: Villa 35 20th: R'ding 30 I'm surprised I have us coming so close to be honest. Maybe there is still a small chance we can pull it off?
I'm surprised you don't having us going straight down to the conference. Do not pass go, do not pick up $200M
Hi Swords. If I've nearly made a believer of you, then the Rss are definitely staying up. Good omen!!! COYRssssssssssssss!!!!!!
Guys, when one plants ones feet firmly on the ground, to those who are prone to building Castles in the air, that individual may appear somewhat negative and downbeat at every turn. Not so. He is just being realistic. That said, now that Remy is out I reckon we we're doomed!
Hmmm, all we can do is sweat and wait. I sort of think I did it with Remy more out than in. Barring a few milliseconds of misery on Saturday, this board would have had a very different flavour this week. Still, nothing to forgive as far as I'm concerned. Not the very best penalty but was just a lucky / good save from keeper.
We are 2/3 of the way into the season and have won just two games. How can anybody take any predictor seriously? Still think that 4 pts against Norwich and Swansea would keep us on track though.
Col, is this confirmed by the club in any way? All the third party stories I have read are a rehash if the same thing, based on Harry's 'torn muscle' statement on Saturday. Whereas Joe said 'slight strain' yesterday - I heard him on 5 Live. Not saying you are wrong, but let's have it officially before writing us off (which I won't do anyway....)
I'm just going by the link posted on the Remy thread. I've been asking how reliable that injury site is but no-one seems to know. I'm hoping that if DJ has been loaned out it means that Remy can't be too bad. Here's hoping!
