Why did we give him a five year contract again? Not just based on this but he'd done nothing to earn it and now we're stuck with him.

 

It really depends when it was taken. I wouldn't mind THAT much if it was taken years ago and only revealed now, as we all know he's been a massive twat as he's grown up. However, I had hoped that he had started to mature up recently.

 

I did think about this...But at the same time, he's been at our club and in the public eye for what, 3 years now?

A tiny bit of common sense and he'd eradicate 90% of his current problems!

 

Nile needs to keep better company, if one of my mates behaved like that I'd tell them to grow up. His girlfriend took the picture at home, I wouldn't be impressed by anyone waving a fake gun around, certainly not part of our culture up here. How did the Sun get the picture anyway.

He isn't **** at all, and the gun looks fake and he looks pissed.

He's just been screwed by one of his "mates" who sent it in to the papers, and the papers are making a big deal of it all.

 

Looks like something that'd go up on twitter (and we know he's posted a fair few 'stupid' pictures of himself on twitter).

Joker - I don't see condemnation of the incident as an overeaction (though saying we should get rid of him is a bit far) at the end of the day, he is in the public eye and he needs to realise that thigns like this do little to improve his already dubious reputation.

Its common sense. I'm at uni now, the majority of my pictures on facebook feature me in some form of drunken of stupor, but my page is 100% private and I'll be deleting a lot of the stuff once I start full time work!

 

I don't think its a big deal at all personally.

However, it's common sense to know that the papers would jump on this, and that's why I'd consider him a moron. When you're a pro footballer there are some things you can no longer do which wouldn't have batted an eyelid in 'normal' life.

 

I'm not basing my argument of getting rid of him on this one incident.
I think his attitude stinks and IMO he hasn't made any progress since he's been here.

Giving a good 10 min cameo every now and then isnt good enough.

 

Just keep your pictures private and your profile pic respectable & you should be fine, just had a final meeting with a Uni careers advisor recently as it was compulsory and they were telling us what to do (mainly common sense tbh). Also we were told to sign up to Linked In, which is like a professional social network site - you upload your cv and only your contacts and I think businesses in your chosen industry can see your page, I've been told it helps builds contacts for jobs and some companies use it to check you out during the interview stage or some scan the pages of people in the industry for potential employees.

This, he's from London, probably into Grime, UK Hip Hop and the like and there's a certain culture that surrounds that. Even though it was a fake gun, he probably was messing around and thought he could trust his mates/girlfriend (they were in his house after all). Judging by his background, they're probably a bad influence on him and just looking to get a quick buck. I think Joey said something in the press about when starting to reform his character he cut off all contact from the people he grew up with as he knew they were influencing him on a path to destruction (can't remember where) and Nile needs to learn to do the same.
I'd say Joey should sit down and talk to him, but Nile is young and probably pig-headed. He's probably thinking, "What happened to Barton won't happen to me.", but it just may if he continues in the company he keeps. Hopefully he has learnt from the leaked photo that he is a figure in the public eye and can't just do what he wants without a consequence somewhere, but I won't hold my breath.
