What are your predictions over the following 6 games, can you see City gaining any points on us? We've got a decent enough fixture list, a few tough ones, but I think we'll get 4 wins, a draw and a shock loss in those six games. I can't see City doing better than that, I hope they drop points in 3 of the following 4 games (Everton and Saints away, Chelsea and Newcastle at home)...
They might gain a couple of points next match as Everton are never easy but then Saints have looked pretty good of late so not 100% on that. We are bound to drop a bollock soon when we really shouldn't. We always do. Of those I would say the most likely candidate there is West Ham away. Depends on if Big Sam tells his players to let us win, like he always does.
We've dropped 13 points in 25 games including away fixtures at City, Chelsea, Liverpool, Everton and Spurs. If City win all 13 of their remaining fixtures, which is unlikely seeing as they have dropped 22 points in 25 games, then we can afford to drop another 8 points from the remaining 13 games. So in a nutshell, it's ours to ****ing lose.
The only thing in City's favour is that we have those big CL matches against Real where we'll no doubt be resting key players either side of them. We have a strong squad so we would still be favourites to win those matches, but it does increase the likelihood of upsets against us...
Every time Suarez goes down? Just kidding RHC! Good performance last night though, Gerrard's goal was a cracker, as was Aguero's... Both candidates for goal of the season in one match.
Yep, both great goals Sir T. The difference was that Gerrard knew EXACTLY where he was putting it. Aguerro knew what he was doing, but there was a high luck factor in operation as well
Fair play to Sir Alex Ferguson... it's a nice feeling knowing you're watching a management legend. The change in football, especially in this country, since the 1980's has been staggering. He has moved with the times and proven time after time that he's the real deal. Sir Alex and Jose... the best two managers i've witnessed thus far.
I can see us dropping points at QPR as well, they've been pretty tough to beat since 'Arry took over. I do think City will drop some points in the upcoming weeks though.
i didn't know where to put this, but i'm still nervous that we've got this big lead after what happened last season, it's a huge gap, and we would need to lose 5 games to let Man City back in the title race some might say that's not going to happen but you never know with 12 games to go, i hope we do go on to win the league.
Big difference this season compared to last: United and City were close throughout the last season and the biggest gap was that 8 point margin. City was setting an incredible pace and that gap was always likely to shrink. But I thought that it should have been enough for us to win. This season, the gap has got bigger and bigger throughout the season. At the same time last season, City had 10 points more. United had 4 points less. At the very least, I would expect the gap t remain the same when we meet at OT.
Awesome weekend for us, a masterstroke by SAF to not make mass changes ahead of the Real match after seeing City drop 3 points. If we drew or lost with a weakened team there's no guarentee our team would've got a positive result on Wednesday in Madrid... In fact I think the psychological damage from throwing away points would've been more damaging than resting a few tired legs. This way our players are all in high spirits, we're doing excellently in the league so they can give absolutely 100% on Wednesday (which they would anyway), and then Fergie can ring the necessary changes on the weekend.
