    Last night the NFL awards were announced, here are the results:

    Defensive player of the year: J.J. Watts
    Offense Rookie of the year: Robert Griffin III, 2nd Luck, 3d Wilson
    Salute to service award: Charles Tillman
    Comeback player of the year: Peyton Manning
    Offensive player of the year: Adrian Peterson
    NFL Man of the year: Jason Witten
    MVP: Adrian Peterson

    it would have been a travesty had petersen not been given the mvp.
    cris carter elected to hof too so it's been a good weekend for the Vikings.

    These are the proper awards, as genuine thought goes into them. Okay, two of them were obvious, but RG3 lived up to the hype, and Denver would have been here tonight if the coach had trusted Peyton Manning on fourth down, seven points to the good with one minute left and no Ravens timeouts.

    As a Niners fan you'd think I'd be bigging up tonight's award. But unless someone does multiple spectacular things and puts in an otherwise consistent performance, it's a given that tonight's winning quarterback will be MVP.

    Let's not forget coach of the year! Bruce Arians first, Chuck Pagano second. Damn straight.
