That's right, count to 10, one for every point we are above you. The game is about winning games, that's what gives you the points. Pretty football is all well and good, but points make prizes. I saw most of your game against wolves and the score line flattered them, but you could have drawn. That's all the commentators went on about was how you topped this stat and that stat and the other stat. Great, you're top of the stat charts, with one exception, the one that matters! Regarding comments about who you should have beaten, 'woulda, coulda, shoulda' is often used in boxing and rings true here. We woulda scored more goals if Maynard hadn't been injured. We coulda been 13 clear if we hadn't messed up against Posh. We shoulda had more points but we had a really bad run away from home at the start of the season. As for waiting for our blip and looking at our settled side, we've come trhough a lot of injuries, including a spell where we had a 19 year old centre back and a 20 year old midfielder at left back because of injury and still got results. A long way to go yet, but I'd rather be 10 points ahead than 10 points behind.
Cardiff remind me a bit of QPR from a couple of seasons ago, grinding out results even when they don't reserve it. As I've said about Hull in the past, you can play as much pretty football as you want but if you don't have anyone to put the ball in the net, you won't get anywhere. Cardiff can play poorly and win, and as we've seen in front of the Sky cameras in our last two games, so can we (now!). The real reason we're ten points behind is because we only became the finished article in Jan, whereas Cardiff have been it all season. I fell fairly confident that we will pick up more points than Cardiff from Jan-May, but will it be enough? Ten points is a big gap when we both keep winning. Anyway, the real issue is that Cardiff and Leicester appear to be the best two sides so my money is on those clubs to go up. I think the play-offs may be wide open though.
How dare you!!! Don't you remember the Hull game at Home The Hull fans chanting "Nigel Pearson, He'll send you to sleep" and Boring boring Leicester"
I would love to make a few points. First off, bravo millwall. Fantastic sportsmanship giving hull a 1st minute lead via a mistake in defense, excellent. Secondly, craig mackail smith congratulations on opting to join brighton instead of leicester, a round of applause there for the worlds smartest transfer. Next, brilliant work Raksriaksorn (or whatever they are called now) for sacking nigel pearson, Because i believe his second coming is the only way we would be as great as we are now with our new signings. How can i forget the great and humble Matt mills, I bet he is absolutely sh**ing himself. Have i missed anything?
How is saying you should be playing in the Welsh League racist. Your fans slating Enland is more racist. The words pot, kettle and black spring to mind.
Please, please, please can we refrain from the nonsense cry of 'you shouldn't be playing in our league!' It's the most undignified nonsense and isn't worth the time of day. As for 'who's the best team in the league?' Still too early to tell, if you're going on positions. Two losses for us and two wins for the chasing 2/3place teams and they'll be thinking 'we're back in it' while Cardiff will be getting nervous. However, what's impressed me this year about Cardiff is that they finally look like a team whose mind is on the job, who are focused, mature and taking one game at a time. They really don't look like bottling it, have strength in depth and are doing what's needed. Fact is that in the 'could have' stakes, we could be another nine points ahead ahd we not thrown away two goal leads away from home. However, it sseems that we've learns something from those games. We're no old-times in this league and have, if you like, paid our dues. I only hope that if we do go up... that we don't come straight back down again. Os all the teams I've seen this year at the CCS, Hull were the most impressive. But so what? Consistency is all important. And, if you're looking for consistency, you need look no further than Cardiff.
Fair post all round - I've been impressed by Cardiff's mentality so far ... doesn't matter a toss if our goal difference is hugely superior if you have more points - you seem to have a knack for grinding out results and winning the close games - unlike the last few seasons where you did seem to have an underlying frailty - at the moment I think the rest of us seem surely to be competing for the second spot ... but this league is notoriously unpredictable
http://www.walesonline.co.uk/footba...sidering-play-off-possibility-91466-32706030/ Love this interview Smacks of complacency.
If you watched the interview itself you'd see he said he'd booked his holidays for then when he was at Sunderland and before he knew he was coming to us. He was also laughing as he said it. Not complacent whatsoever.
It's football and anything can happen ..There's enough games left for Cardiff , Leicester , Hull to all finish outside the top 3 places yet .... Who knows ? That's why Footy is such a great Game ... Good luck to who ever you support
AKCJ - Yup, a lot of us down here winced when we listened to that on Fraizer's interview on CCFC player. We heard similar comments from "on is arse" Bothroyd when he was with us and look what happened. Don't think Fraizer's comment should be taken to literally. He seems a decent lad and it was probably just a throw away remark indicating how confident he was about joining us. To be honest, they way the club and team is set up right now I'd be very surprised if it does go tits up this season. (and that's not being complacent! )
The best team in the league are the team who finishes top at the end of the season. At this point Cardiff look odds on to do that. A 10 point gap a huge indicator taht Cardiff are better than any other team in the league.
