Having watched the Football League Show last night, I have to say how impressed I was that Watford actually got 40 seconds worth of exposure as opposed to the normal 5 or 6. Congratulations.

Seriously though, it seems all the teams around you get more time than you do. This might be annoying to you, but it could also be really good news as you keep under the radar until you have either caught 2nd place, or have definitely nailed a play off place (3rd)

When we were in the Championship, it was qpr, Baadiff and 'mighty' Feeds that were getting exposure all the time.

Leeds were never in it, Baadiff bottled it and we sneaked in un-noticed under the radar.
No pressure from outside the club for us. This could work for you as well.
If you don't get the plaudits from the FLS and media etc, then just sit back and be happy that you will surprise a lot of people. Keep under the radar. Sneak up behind them and bite them in the backside, leaving lots of teethmarks - preferrably on Leicester's bums <laugh>

I just don't think people care about us because we're not a big famous old club..

I think we get positive coverage in terms of our football now...

It's probably a bit late to 'keep under the radar' - most sides are starting to play very cautiously and tend to alter their preferred formation when they come up against us. I think the best thing for us to do is sit back and let them all think that we are just a team of 'loanees' with not much quality outside of a starting eleven.

As for Leicester, they are due a 'blip' like the one we had on Tuesday and it will happen. Then they have to face us at their place, when I'm sure they'll find out just how good we are away from home, and after which they will be hurting. Same applies for Hull. ;)

Only things they do mention are "Italians, Loan Players......blah blah blah" - buy I am more than happy in staying under the radar if it means not having to listen to the drival coming out of the likes of Claridge

With notoriety comes expectation. Happy to remain a small insignificant club until we are ready to kick some ass. Some way away from that right now and that's fine.

As for pundits like Mr Claridge, not the brightest or most accomplished so easily ignored.

Ironically, with the possible exception of late 2007, this is probably as hyped as we have been since the formation of the Premier League. The second Graham Taylor era included.

It must be annoying to have a television programme that shows football but prefers the same teams all the time. I saw a story saying every one of Manchester Uniteds cup matches since 2005 had been shown on television in the UK on normal TV or on ESPN/Sky and over 90 per cent of their league games. Giving Watford equal time to the other teams at the top of the championship would be good or even a propotion so Cardiff City get most and then the teams below get a little less. I know the British TV have favourite teams and Watford who are not one of them were nearly always last on the FLS show last season and now they do well the BBC have a proble. Imagine if we are in the Premier League.

We are on the radar more than normal, in my humble opinion, due to the Pozzos, Zola and our new players. However, we still don't get too much coverage, may it stay that way.

Amazing though that of these "40 seconds", most were devoted to showing the two "near misses" that Bolton had, as well as the foul and their penalty. So there was more time devoted to Bolton attacking than to the 2 goals that we scored, never mind the chances that we had (including Deeney's one-on-one in the first half saved by the keeper) which were conveniently ignored.

BBC biased against us? Surely not.....

The blog that I posted a link to on the match thread shows that we are getting noticed rather more.

On peice from it though tends to make me think about how much do the national press know.

"The current FA charges being pressed against Watford for financial mismanagement under previous owner Laurence Bassini are a chilling reminder of the bad old ways."

The WO is the only paper that I have noticed who have reported on this. Do others know anything but are keeping it under wraps?

Apologies for straying off topic here, but I wonder why the FA are pressing charges against Watford?

Mods, please feel free to move this if you think it should be moved <ok>

As I understand it, it was the FA who apparently vetteed and said that Bassini was a fit and proper person to 'own' a football club. Now if this correct, then surely, when he is found not to be fit and proper, it is him that should be charged and not the club. Or, should the FA admit liability for letting him in in the first place? <tonguefirmlyincheek>

FA admit liability? You must be having a laugh..if they started doing that they would be bankrupt. Yeah I know they are morally bankrupt, but that would hit them where it would really hurt - in their pockets.

They're never going to admit liability, but a fine would be them saying "we can't overlook the fact that the rules were broken here", while a point deduction would be them saying "we are certain that this had nothing to do with us". They would need to be certain, because there's no way we would take a Looton-type deduction lying down.

Were not too worried about you lot. We are effectively 2 points ahead with a game in hand. We have more then enough confidence in ourselves to get the job done. As of this minute we are the 2nd beat team in the league

On the Danny Graham thing what I think should happen is you should get fined or something and then in the summer the FA, PL, FL should issues guidelines saying if anyone else is found guilty of involving a 3rd party on deals they will get a points deduction. Enough is enough of clubs doing it

Thanks for that Foxy, could you go and do some research and find out the detail behind this "third party" involvement and then come back and make a sensible comment. Funny how you lot are not worried about us, yet have started making comments on almost every Watford thread - you keep looking over your shoulder.

He obviously doesn't know his own team's fixture list & hasn't realised what is going to hit them in April, especially at the end of the month. <laugh>

Also, am I alone in hoping that if we do get in the play-offs that we finish 5th or 6th as I think having the away leg second will suit us?
