We may have lost but that was quite an impressive performance

Very impressed by Varney, Brown and the back line.

One mistake by Byram led to their goal - that's going to happen with young un's but overall they were good.

We tried to play football the whole game, closed them down brilliantly and created a few chances, shame we couldn't convert. Shouts for a few penalties too. Amazed at Varney's Gary Speed-like heading ability, and also that Connolly never got a yellow for fouling him. In one stretch of 15 minutes in the 2nd half, he and Hudson must have fouled Varney 10 times.

So although we lost, I say that performance shows we are on the up - massively on the up.

Roll on the next few weeks.

Oh and Habibou? For a guy that size, was surprised how many times he pulled out from going for headers.

I thought the starting lineup was a good selection. Really had to maintain the nucleus of the Spurs game.

    Terrific performance!!!

So unlucky with 2 point blank attempts went straight to their keeper.

Disappointed that Mike Dean did not deal with time wasting/delaying restart tactics of Barfdiff!

Agree, I think we played very well today at least in the first half. And I think we were very unlucky to not win this game<ok>

that ref was a ****ing disgrace, soon as he came out laughing and joking with the cardiff players at half time (late out, might I add), I knew he was going to give everything their way. ****ing absolute embarrassment. Mike Dean, go stick a ****ing pole up your ass you **** ****

I don't have a problem with anyone thinking Mike Dean is ****, but exactly what were we not given?

From my view, he blew his whistle too many times but I certainly didn't see any bias

Byram made a mistake in the Spurs game that led to their goal. 2 mistakes that were not due to lack of experience but careless clearances. A sign that we should worry about.

I've just watched the goal again, and realised that it was Varney that put Byram into that situation by not cutting out the initial cross - through lack of effort, IMHO. Mistake by Byram, sure, but caused by Varney's laziness.

I also noticed that we seemed to spend the second half humping high balls to Varney. Who says hoofball is dead without Becchio?

Same tactic as against Spurs, loop it up to Varney for knock downs, try and win second ball in final third and create pressure. Won't work every game, and should be a surprise weapon rather than a 21 gun salute.

Byram may be a class act, but he has to learn that there are times where a wellie up field solves the problem. That there was a simple pass available doesn't help his case. Possibly worth giving him either an earful & told not to do it again, or half a match on the naughty step by starting on the bench.

    He has to learn.

Shows how poor we've been when fans are happy with that. No surprise only 19k for visit of leaders. Poor entertainment I'm afraid

NW claimed that there were 2 penalty shouts. I did not see any.

As I wrote above, Mike Dean let them get away with delaying restarts and wasting time too much, IMHO. That was my only criticism.

Decent defensive performance but a lack of ideas going forward. Warnock doesn't know when to make subs to change it either

The dreadful attendances are proof of how poor we are. The fans are voting with their feet, which is understandable. If gfh think they'll woo the fans with the sort of signings we've had in January, they're going to be very disappointed

Unlike most people. I don't mind not having rich owners. All I want is money we make to be spent and I think that'll pretty much happen under GFH. I think the reason the stadium is so empty is because of poor performances and a poor style of football. Just because we have won a few games over the last month doesn't change the fact that Warnock is the problem

Warnock is not the only problem though. No manager is ever going to win promotion with Leeds without some sort of a budget to work with. Like it or not, it'll have to be in the millions, not 100k now and then. Another manager may be able to encourage better football but freebies and auld lads may not be able to play anything better

It was an average performance, but still not great. We have no way of cutting teams open, so any side with a half decent defence will beat us no problem.
