http://www.not606.com/showthread.ph...-in-the-league?p=4222764&posted=1#post4222764 Thread posted on the Foxes board. I notice Sparkey got in before me there. Wonder what you guys think? I believe we have deserved to be where we are. We control games quite well, and we have the ability to dominate a game for large periods. I guess it is natural we may not get much respect from others.
I think what they are saying is (I was reading this thread earlier today) is that Cardiff are not playing the "most pretty" football. I do not know how true that is as I don't get to watch you much but we had a similar conversation the season we got promoted. QPR played the least "most pretty" football and went up as Champions, Norwich & Swansea were praised for their "very pretty" football, streets ahead of the more direct QPR game. At the end of the day it doesn't really matter, Cardiff Are effective in what they are doing and winning points most weeks. It is not a bad approach and one you may well need to adopt next season where playing "pretty football" is going to be a lot harder, which may be why we are playing so horribly away from home in the hope of snatching the odd away point.
tbh malky is right we are the man utd of this division>>>when playing great we hammer teams, when we dont play well we win one nil>>>>>>>all in all its still 3pts and the promotion charge continues ......never trust a fox very sly animals
Siam - they're a mixed bunch on the Leicester board. Some to whom you can talk football, others are much like the Leed's boys. Apparently we're cheats and inveterate sheep worriers - it was always the way pal. Some of what's been posted is relevant. We have taken points in games where we've failed to dominate the opposition and could therefore be classed as "lucky". Problem for most of them is that they can't accept that that's an integral part of the game. Any team that gets that principle right is half way to promotion without kicking a ball. Still, bless 'em, they have a decent side that plays some attractive football to cheer on. I can't fault that except for one very little thing - for all that they're 10 points behind us. They must fancy their chances for an auto spot and with some justification, but I still fancy Brucie Baby at Hull to beat them to it. It could be playoffs for them again, but at least they haven't got Kermorgant any more.............
Suitable comment posted on Leicester thread. Some sensible posts meriting discussion but a couple of pillocks put in their place.
We play very pretty football most of the time, which is good see. I'm sure we'd all be happy to swap that for your'e ten point advantage though.
Maybe we're not deemed to be a good footballing side 'cos we don't make 15 passes along our back four then pass back to the keeper then do it all over again.
hey, who gives a ****, reading won the league last year and were hardly playing total football....... west ham were workmanlike, southampton were a passing side but this division is about getting out of it, by any means......
Good Lord, i have to agree with you there Swamp !!! Anyway got to get back to running the business, and here's a way of how to make money. EVOCUTIS. I bought in at 0.93 Dont often blast these about but they will go to atleast 7 and then hopefully be bought out by a big pharmaceutical outfit. Get in and get a free season ticket out of it. TTFN
I certainly don't consider you a poor footballing side, neither would I consider you one of the best in this league in terms of "pretty football". What you have proven yourselves to be is well organised, effective but most of all consistent. It's the consistency that will see you promoted beyond anything else. At points this year the football we've played has been amongst the best I've ever seen us play. There have been games however that we've lost despite dominating and playing well (our match against you being a good example). We've gradually learnt how to grind these types of games out whilst you've been doing so efficiently all season. No one can argue that you don't deserve to be where you are. One thing I have wondered though is do you Cardiff fans feel completely happy with the football your team produces? Do you feel you hit top gear often enough?
thanks dude and very well put ......are we happy with the football we play>>>>>>i can only speak for myself and say hell yeah its a traditional british hard working attitude throughout the team......give me that over tippy tappy any day off the week>>>>>>>>im sure sir fergie would back me up on this. ps good luck with your promo push freddy
Cheers mate and to you Although if you lot fancy losing a few between now and April 9th that be greatly appreciated
Cheers Freddy, I'm quite happy the way we are playing at the mo. You don't need to play hoof ball to play direct, I'll leave the 40 passes to get out of your penalty area to our cousins down west, if you take more than 8 passes to get from one area to the other you’re wasting shoe leather. I'll leave the time wasting to the ball boys.
We are the best team in the league. League Table doesnt lie. Weve also had injury problems with key players out. Now weve just got Maynard out. Someone soon (hopefully the wurzels) will get a right hammering. All the top teams will have to beat us , draws for them wont be enough. We may lose some games but so will others. Malky in my opinion isnt picking our best 11 and the 11 more likey to play teams off the park. What he is doing is picking a 11 that is very difficult to break down and there is still enough quality to get a goal. Seems weve got another gear. Team equalise we just go up that gear and grab another. Saw the leicester highlights. Ok we were battered 1st half. But we rode it out scored and Bellamy should have made it 2. Also we could and should have grabbed another 2 2nd half. They may beat us at the CCS. However they play 2 up front leaving a 4 man midfield including Danny Drinkwater and King competing against Whitts and Gunnarsson then they could be the team on the wrong side of the hammering. Cardiff will be Champions. Leicester will probably come 2nd. Hull are a very good side who if they signed a clinical striker would be our closest challenger. I think theyve blown it though.
