Pretty easy to fix our defensive frailties imo. Get Fonte fit asap, and we won't concede two goals from corners. Sorted.

Just as bad, if not worse, than Guly's miss vs Stoke. He certainly had a lot more time than Guly did.

But of course he's not Guly, so...

    Quote possibly, Kingsland corner?.

But seriously yesterday was the poorest I've seen him, in all honesty I am failing to see what he has added to the team all season, he does nothing that Lallana or even Steve Davis couldn't do. Davis bossed it again yesterday, changed the game. That's what Ramirez should be doing.

You are incredible. So yesterday was the poorest you've seen him and now you say you wonder what he brings to the team "all season". Well by definition if yesterday was the poorest you've see him, then every other game he has been better.

He has been poor in the last two games. He has brought something to us in most of the other games. If he hasn't have missed that chance yesterday, you would just be saying he wasn't in the game much. He didn't do anything wrong apart from the miss, but didn't do anything very positive.

    Talk about being reactionary!

You're just annoyed because I said Wigan was a **** hole, which was proven yesterday.
Ramirez has done literally nothing, I can think of probably 2/3 games where he turned up. That's it. And yesterday was the poorest I've seen him out of a collection of poor performances. Don't try and twist my words.

Nah. Also you would need unreasonably long arms that extend over two rows, a cockney accent and to spend every ten minutes saying that Ramirez is not six times better than Michu.

I know he's not been great recently but he's still capable of producing something out of nothing. Now I wouldn't be surprised, or disappointed if he was on the bench on Saturday but hoping he's not fit is just plain stupid.

I'd fancy Davis to start in place of Ramirez, Pochettino surely can't be impressed with what he has seen from Ramirez. In comparison Davis has changed the game twice after coming on at HT.

I agree with you that Davis should start instead of Ramirez.

Ramirez would make an excellent impact sub, just as against Chelsea. He is really good at making use of the extra space late on in games. If Lallana's able to start we won't miss Ramirez's creativity so much.

Speaking of MOTD, I don't think I have ever seen a defender have such a torrid time as Heitinga. Has anyone ever been at fault for three goals before? There must be some Saints centre back with that honour.

The reaction of the Everton fans for Villa's 3rd goal was highly amusing.

3:00 o'clock Ivory Coast v Nigeria. Very important game for us. We have a much better chance of getting something from City with Yaya Toure not available. With Kompany out injured too there is not really a better time to play City at home. It's foolish to expect anything from City regardless, with players like Silva, Aguero, Dzeko et al., but we certainly have a better chance with those two missing. Come on Côte d’Ivoire!

Can't really see Ivory Coast losing, they're the best team in the competition by approximately a million miles. Though they have bottled the last three tournaments of course... perhaps only their own neuroses can defeat them!

Ollysaint - I'm with you regarding starting with Davis over Ramirez. Being solid in the middle will be vital against City's silky smooth midfield. We will need to Harry and hustle them relentlessly if we are to get a result, give them time and they will batter us.
Ramirez isn't one for this but might be useful for the final 15-20 minutes if we need to chase a goal but Davis will help keep things tight and close down everyone
