Although I think the one signing we made was a good one.(I think he'll establish himself as our first choice LB ahead of Gibbs) You have to wonder why Wenger is only willing to buy players on the cheap. So far it's come out we had bids rejected for Etienne Capoue and David Villa. Therefore Wenger is awaire we need to strengthen in those areas. But it seems that if he can get a cheap deal he just won't do it.
I think they were open to sell Capoue until the very end, on the condition that they are able to sign a replacement on time themselves. They didn't have one, and that's why they didn't want to sell. That would explain why it was kept alive till the very end. As for David Villa, Barca genuinely think he can be important for their season.
Sissoko Man what a **** up not buying this guy Destroyed Chelski on his own So now Newcastle can beat Chelsea and we can't not right in my book Bad news is we have to play them end of season and the top 4 may come down to THAT game.
Don't you think we should wait and see what they guy does over the next 6 to 12 months, rather than one game? If he continues in that form then your point might be valid, however claiming that we ****ed up based on one game is ludicrous.
Also, Sissoko has been played in the Cazorla role in his first two games. That's where Cazorla and, if he's missing, Wilshere both play with aplomb, and the position on the pitch where the least strengthening is needed.
You are right of course but when I saw the impact he made against Chelsea I thought Wenger would have molded him somewhere across our midfield for extra power when we need it (Like yesterday) But its early days As corporal Jones said "Don't panic Don't panic"
We're being linked to Steven Jovetic by the Mirror. I hope you're right about him SJW! Looks like you are: Arsenal87 will love the bit at the end! The player seems to have a lot of injury problems though. Also Benteke wants to leave Aston Villa in the summer, and we're being linked to him. I'm not sold on him yet; would rather we got Jovetic.
he has a powerful shot on him with little drawback. at 1:00 looks like something rosicky used to do. between him and benteke it depends on what type of striker we want. someone like giroud whose big up front (but also has pace in bentekes case) or someone who runs at defences or gets behind them to finish.
Jovetic and Capoue would be excellent additions. Maybe another CB and I think we'd have a very strong squad.
I'd be happy if we signed Jovetic, but if we are going to sign a striker from Serie A, then my preference would be Cavani.
Definitely. We should be going for the very best because that is what we lost last summer. However, I wouldn't be too traumatized if we got Jovetic.
I wouldn't be traumatised if we got Jovetic at all, he's great, and he suits our style of play, both him and Cavani are brilliant, but the latter is better. Then again, he is also older than Jovetic, so who knows how good Jovetic will be at the same age. I still think CB is our biggest issue for the time being, unless Koscielny and Mertesacker are allowed to flourish together...
I know we have more cash now (new sponsorship deal) but I still think Cavani is out of our price range. Jovetic on the other hand, is not that far out of reach. He is an excellent player and one that I have said we should buy for a while now. He has the pace and link play needed to play the CF role for us. People who do not watch Serie A, will get the chance to get a closer look at him when England play Montenegro next month.
Only reason I'm holding onto the Cavani link is because GeoffArsenal said we made a £30 million bid for someone, so it possibly shows that we'd be willing to spend a bit of money, despite Cavani's buy out clause.
