12 months ago no one rated Danny Drinkwater very much when he was playing for Barnsley. Last season he looked a decent player but nothing more then a rotation player if we was serious about promotion. Over the summer he has got himself into shape (not like he was unfit before anyway) and nailed a shirt down. He hasnt missed a league game all season and barring injury he will play every game because he is that good now

At this moment in time I dont think James is ready to start every week but in 12 months who knows how good he will be but at the minute he has proved he is a very useful player to have

God you're tedious. And obsessed. As much as you'd like it to be that Pearson has dropped him, it isn't the case.

So to get it straight, you didn't say James was **** after you saw him play the first time, but now you've seen him twice, you've made up your mind he is. Brilliant. I've seen Hull twice this season. They were **** both times so they much be ****. I'll ignore the fact that your actually third in the league, just like you ignore the fact that James has being keeping a fine player like King our of a side second in the table.

As Proud said a few posts back, he's a solid player but plays in a thankless, no-glory position. Funnily enough, your comments echo what some of our less observant fans think of King too. He's also far from the finish article, which, at 26, is more than you should be able to say about Prozzie. <ok>

    Calm down son.

It's called an opinion and I'm sorry if it offends you so much, which it clearly does. If you care to look I've been very complimentary about your team and have wished them well.

How hard is it to accept that on what I have seen of him James isn't that good?

If he'd just been a bit off the game I wouldn't have commented but he was absolutely dire on the occasions I have seen him.

    Deep breaths pal, deep breaths.

    It's only my opinion.

You don't wind me up, you just bore me. You're probably a decent poster if you try, but the only comments I've read from you in 2013 have either been targeted at me or have been about Matty James (i.e. attempting to get arise from me).

I don't mind if someone's option various from my own if it's an informed opinion. Yours isn't. Since he's a defensive-minded midfielder, his success is judged on clean sheets. How many goals did we concede in the two games you saw? That'd be none wouldn't it? <ok>

As I said, Hull have been dire the two times I've seen them this season. So I'll apply your logic and assume they must be dire all the time then. <ok>

I'm not trying to wind anybody up I'm just stating my opinion on what I have seen.

I'm not going to say he's good if when I 've seen him he's been utter ****.

I don't need to have seen him thirty odd times to form an opinion on him and don't claim to be an expert, I was joking when I said I was rarely wrong before you say anything.

If all you want is posters praising your players all the time you might want to think about whether a multi board forum is the right place for you.

I have, recently, praised Knockeart, Morgan, Waghorn and Wood and I haven't seen much of them either, once again it's a judgement made on what I have seen.
I don't recall you coming on here telling me I didn't know what I was talking about then as I had only seen them a few times.

    It works both ways pal.

I've praised a lot more of your players than I've slated, in fact I think James is the only one. It's almost a compliment that I think he's the only weak link in your team, yet still you go off on one because I have the temerity to criticise one of your players.

I don't hate Leicester and have stated I hope both teams go up, I just think James isn't up to much.

Fair enough. We'll agree to disagree.

I'm not saying James is a world beater (I don't expect him to be at this stage of his career) and I might even agree that he could be the weakest link of a strong chain that is our first team (although their are one or two others that I could name). If you remember, my original dispute with you was not about how good James is or isn't, but the that the logic you applied when forming your opinion on him (that he'd still be at United if he was any good) was flawed.

Regarding Matty James - I'd rather him be playing in midfield than Andy King - my personal opinion, he's not a world beater but does the 'simple stuff' very very well

I can see what you are saying.

On the other hand I could say Liverpool were crap in the early 80's
The first 5 times I seen they lost them all. I watched them lose to Leicester 4 times (2 home and 2 away) and to West Ham (at upton Park) the 6th match was a draw (with Leicester again)
On this point there was other evidence to show this wasn't true.
With Matty James thre is not enough evidence for you to change your mind (or prove your opinion)- only time will tell.

People's opinions.on players will always.differ. I thought Carlton Palmer was **** but graham Taylor thought he was good enough to represent his country.

    End of discussion.

The trade off between James and King is that King is more likely to score ... but with Wood, Knockaert and Nugent in fine shooting form, do we need his goals ... personally I just love it that we those options ... the overall quality of the squad is far better than when we last made the play-offs ,,,

Am old enough to remember England winning the World Cup, and there was a little midfielder who glued the side together, whilst more attack minded players shone above - people like Hurst Peters and Charlton. Most teams need that type of player, who will run, shadow and get a foot in and then play a simple ball to those attacking players.
Recently, Matty James has been that player for us. Hasn't shone like Knockaert Wood or Nugent, but has slowed down attacks against us and played a very simple game. Whilst he isn't Nobby Stiles, he has started making his shirt his own and our results have turned around since he has been in the side.

King only ever really excelled when we needed to compensate for having crap strikers who didnt score enough.
