Sorry to read that CF; hope he had the send off that you would have hoped for. Your right, life must be put in perspective. I've not read the forum tonight but the odd boy suggests the loons have been out in force.
I could be completely wrong on this, but I thought I heard Solent say today that Forren is in the Norway squad for their match this week. So if he plays, even coming off the bench, that would get him some game time.
Thanks for your sentiments. I don't there are many "loons" on the site to be frank. It's just that for many on here, losing a match is the worst that has happened to them. The send off was great and very moving, I have never been reduced to tears by a football match, any way. A perspective is one of the only compensations for my expanding waistband, receding hairline and lack of ability to get off the floor without bracing in several places.
They say the sign of a good team is being able to win while playing badly..... What do the say about a team that seemingly plays well but fails to win? I don't know if to feel confident or disheartened today. I've never known a season with so many missed opportunities though, just how many matches could we or should we have won this term, but didn't. Bit scary to think about at this late stage of the season. But I suppose we have as much chance of beating Man City as say Qpr the way things are panning out, so on to the next. (no rage here, life is too short as CF rightly pointed out)
End of the day Football isn't life, football is more of a release from life. By all means we should be passionate about it but we also need to realise there are far more important things then football.
Just watching the match and first impressions are that we simply didn't get any luck going our way in the first half hour, missed their goal, was out of the room for a few minutes, watching Lambo trying to set chances up and too often the receiver hasn't been good enough to match the subtlety of the pass, and good chances have gone begging. JRod is looking better as he gets more time but has to be more careful when tackling back. It isn't really all that bad.
You've pretty much summed up my thoughts there. Unfortunately they are the reasons why i think we will go down.
A brave header from Lambo, putting his head in where he knew he was going to get clattered. Clyne didn't look injured at all, apart from his pride maybe, it looked tactical and worked instantly.
I know I am biased but at least one of hand ball shouts was identical to that penalty given against Aaron Martin last year, ball to hand yes, but debatable whether it was a genuine shout. Neat move and finish for our second.
My opinion is that all that effort deserved more, the fans came across as immense thoughout, MoM probably Spider or Corky on that viewing.
Well it was hardly going to be ahead of the Newcastle and Everton games was it?? Possibly could have been 3rd on the running order, but it wasn't going to be any higher.
