Disagree on all three counts. He is Prem quality. Hoillet shouldn't be let near the side unless he loses the attitude. Cisse was a disgrace to the shirt this year and should never be let back near the Club.
Just thought I'd add my 2 pennies worth in. Mackie is very enthusiastic, runs around a lot, puts in a lot of effort and in doing so will always pick up the odd free-kick (which Taarabt will inevitably waste) but unfortunately he has no end product at this level and is often caught on the ball in his own half. He's a fans favourite because of his effort but I do think this blinds a lot of people to his lack of talent. However, if a lot of other players in the squad, Bothroyd, Zamora, Hoilett, Granero, Cisse, Taarabt to name but a few, had his attitude, we wouldn't be facing going down this year. He shouldn't be in the starting eleven, in my opinion, but should be kept as he'll be a very good player to have in the Championship.
I just wish that Mackie's boots were just that bit stickier. Likewise Zamora. Neither seems able to take a first touch that keeps the ball within 6ft of them.
this all day. mackie forced countless errors today by just chasing down lost causes. He's no pele but if adel had put away the pen that mackie won we probably wouldn't be having this conversation. we all know what he brings to the team by now... we also what his limitations are. We're an average side doing the best with what we've got.
