Alfie has a good engine on him. He was box to box for the entire match today and made some good challenges to win the ball back. He's a bit rough round the edges at the moment and lacked composure at critical moments during the match. With a little more PL experience and work on his passing and shooting, I think we have a potential diamond here. Don't be too quick to judge guys!
The thing is mate, when you sign a new player who isn't good enough, you get slated for speaking out our true feelings. Most of these fans prefer to pretend everything is ok, covering over cracks in the hope that nobody will find out that the player isn't good enough for 2 or 3 years. Then eventually we realise that time has passed and was wasted. Maybe the kid will come good, but as far as I can see, now isn't the time to be playing him. Put him alongside Wickham in the 'will come good a ta later date' team.
Disco, if you have been to the game then I bow to your better judgement; I watched it on the computer. However the expectations of some on here are unrealistic, his role is box to box and as far as I could make out he did that pretty well. If Larsson and Vaughan managed it any better, then my stream must be worse than I thought. His composure let him down a couple of times but don’t tell me he is about to be castigated for having a shot (something we were crying out for a couple of months ago). It seems that because Newcastle won and we lost the comparison with their French midfield players is more acute. The difference is that N’Diaye gets little support from the rest of our midfield.
I don't expect him to do a Sissoko and score a brace or control the whole game. Larsson was pretty anonymous. I don't rate Vaughan. Alfie needs to do better than that thought mate because he wasn't finding a man with his pass, his shooting was worse than Brambles. Needs to find his range and stop shooting. Will be a decent player but today was a right off for the lad.
I think Larsson is getting unfair criticism, when on the wing he is a good player, better than Johnson or McClean have been this season. Keep Larsson but play him in his best position.
Its funny, after the Wigan game I said to my Brother-in-Law that he hit some nicely weighted passes and looked nailed on to score once he settled in. I backed him to score against Swansea and he has been poor since, must be my bloody fault.
This hits the nail on the head for me. How many players are playing out of position at the moment? One or two to say the least.
I thought alf made some decent forward runs today. More than Larsson and Vaughan anyway. Yes he should have done a lot better with the chance in the second half (I'm sure hell have nightmares about the miss), but I thought he did ok today.
Pathetic thread and pathetic username. The lad done nowt wrong at all today, and having a man of his size in the middle is a breath if fresh air. He's gona be a top player in a few years time!
Larsson has undoubted quality, I don't understand playing him in the middle and Sess out wide. We were awful today until MON swapped them after 20 minutes.
That's just horse ****. He was one on one and he sliced it miles wide. He could have passed it to the wing, he over hit it and booted it straight out. He shot early on and it dribbled out like an old mans piss. That's off the top of my head. I'm not saying he's ****e but he had a bad ****ing day. To say he did nowt wrong all day is ridiculous mate.
The stupid thing is they should not be we have decent players in all positions now. The only player I can accept it with is Gardner but he was a RB for most of his earlier career and he is doing a great job there.
Yeah I agree he made a few bad decisions, what I mean is he's done nowt wrong to get dropped on the bench. He's still very raw and finding his feet. Would u prefer to see a Colback Vaughan partnership? I know I wouldn't !
