Agree entirely about Cisse, but Derry and Hill are not a problem imo. Both playing well. Mbia is not playing as well as Derry imo!
I'n not disagreeing with you, but I will ask you this, what had Cisse done this season before he went?
Great post and great replys slagging off our players, what a wonderful bunch you are. This board is a joke sometimes instead of looking at what we are doing well and picking your MOTM you want to concentrate on picking your scapegoat of the match I thought he was one of our better players won the penalty DOING HIS JOB and several other free kicks in and around the box and chased the living daylights out of their defence, not saying all posts are negative just can't stand the vibe on this post> IMHO crap post QPR!!
How many goals did Cisse score recently - I just cannot rember him scoring. At the end we do have to admit that our team is just not good enough and even if we brought in Messi right now, we wouln´t score. Happy to follow the R´s in a lower league but with opponents that we can match. I have never seen a worse team for so many games and honestly hope that we can go up again in 2015....
Cisse showed no passion or fight before he left, he swaned around rolling in the tons of cash we paid him! Mackie on the other hand runs and runs, with more passion and fight then most, if the whole squad had mackies fight we wouldn't be in this mess, it was him who chased down a hopeless ball to win the penalty, had the penalty been scored you'd no doubt be singing his praise.
Here Here!! Disappointing result, but a number of good performances today. As we all know, we need to show attacking intent it just wasn't there at all first half; slightly better second half. Still not good enough - need men on that six-yard box when the ball is coming in. It will come - but will it be quick enough to save us?
You are not allowed to criticize Abdul and SwrongP on this forum. Saint Useless of the Lake will be down on you like a ton of bricks.
It's about what he might do imo. Betty and DJ will never carry the same goal threat as Cisse. Remy is now injured for **** knows how long. We started out with one up front today and that was Jamie bloody Mackie. Feels like a nail in the coffin this result.
Come on where are you Mackie lovers? How you can defend him I don't know! He will certainly contribute a lot taking us down, like having 10 men on the pitch, Harry equally to blame for picking him.
Mackie won numerous free kicks today and the penalty. On at least three occasions he charged down a lost cause that won us possesion in their final third or penned them in. First half he was lost but that's because as a lone striker you can't apply pressure on your own. Once Zamora came on Mackie came alive as he could apply pressure whilst Zamora and others shut off other options. In previous games you could argue that he hasn't played well but to target him today is moronic. One of our best players who not only raised the crowd but the team. Think of how much heart players like Derry, Mbia, Jenas, Townsend, Taarabt etc will take when they see Mackie win the ball FOR THEM in the final third and give the defenders a breather. He is an effective player in the same way Derry is. Derry will hassle and hurry but isnt going to spray the ball 30 yards. Mackie will run and run and win us a lot of territory and free kicks but isnt going to beat three players then whip a ball onto Zamoras head. It's a bit like blaming a kettle for not frying your bacon. It's not what its designed for.
Cant say I agree re Mackie completely. A bloke on the train on the way home was slagging him off and I nodded in agreement just to avoid an argument. Yes he didnt do a great deal, but he was played up front on his own against two massive CB's in Turner and Bassong. We didnt give them enough to think about until 55 mins when Zamora came on to play with Mackie. It was only then when we ended up with some decent chances. Mackie did look a bit off the pace and one step behind Zamora I will say that, but won a penalty and put in a decent shift overall. Chased all day long and won numerous balls back from them and set up opportunities. Imo the wrong decision was to play him on his own up front. That lies with Harry.
No wonder my breakfast taste so watery. And to think it takes a football forum to get my cooking sorted. I thought scrambled egg from the toaster was hard enough...
Although Mackie wasn't at his best today he did well to win us the penalty and a few free kicks. Hopefully Harry's learnt not to play him as a lone striker after today cos he really didn't offer anything as an attacking threat. We're really lacking options upfront but Harry must really not rate DJ not to give him a chance. Ideally we should be using Mackie on the wing and even then as an impact sub. The real problem today was how absolutely woeful we are from attacking set pieces. I haven't seen the stats but we seemed to have one every five minutes, none of which we made count. I really don't see what the fascination is with having Taarabt take all out set pieces for the last few years. Time after time he wastes the opportunity. Surely there's someone else who can be taking them.
