Who do we think will win the Super Bowl?? Not seen a lot of it this year. Used to like the 49ers back when it was Joe Montana, Jerry Rice so I'm going to go with the them for old times sake. Seems its a close call in the betting. http://www.guardian.co.uk/sport/blog/2013/feb/01/nfl-talkboard-superbowl-xlvii-ravens-49ers
I think the 49ers are slight favourites, should be a good game either way. I'm going for SF, the only thing I think can stop them is Baltimore's defence, last season they were unlucky in the play offs, so I reckon if SF can keep Kaepernick safe they have a chance. I thought Smith was still starting actually. Missed the play offs, haven't seen anything since December.
The ravens. I don't really know, but a mate supports them so I'll go for them. Not particularly interested though. I find it the 2nd most boring sport, after baseball/rounders. Still don't get why its called football either.
I'm not a huge fan of the NFL but I take an interest, obviously living in New Orleans this is a massive weekend for our area. 150,000 visitors this weekend, its 7:00am here right now and the french quarter is rammed! You cant get into a bar they are all so full let alone to the bar to buy a drink. Mardi gras season too so the parades are rolling all day as well. I've never seen anything like it before but after I listen to City beat Millwall I'm off out to soak up the atmosphere and drink several coctails with the tourists, should be a good laugh. Of course I will be wearing my city shirt and be telling every body what real football is
Its crazy Bruce to be honest, its going to take some cleaning up come monday, its ankle deep in plastic drink glasses and mardi gras beads already so it might be passed the knees after the next two days, they must have been shipping booze into this place for weeks
I dont know but you dont need to wait for Mardi Gras to go there. The french quarter is a party 7 days a week 24 hours a day.
When all is said and done rugby isn't all that bad a sport in the grand scheme of things. I'm no fan of rugby and think its for gays but it's a more entertaining watch then... On second thoughts, fair point
49ers for me....both defences are very good but the 49ers have much more variation on offence and give me kaepernick over flacco anyday
Oy ****s, you know what the threads about why come on here to moan about it. **** the **** off. (Ben is a very bad influence on me).
Guilty as charged bob. Fat blokes in vests drinking heavily and eating extra large portions of food, with scantily clad women everywhere, I know what I want heaven to look like!!
Soz Chazz, but put this ****e up on the City forum, and you're inviting us all to comment, otherwise you'd have put it in a American Football forum. To sum it up another way, 6 Nations - Like the Superbowl, but a lot less gay.
The 'big' American sports such as Baseball and American Rugby aren't big outside of the States for one reason. They are **** excuses for sports. Sorry, but that's the way I sees them. Never liked US sport. When I went there on holiday, ESPN showed nowt but Basketball, Baseball and American Rugby. The only time anything foreign was shown it involved (surprise surprise) Manchester United. Also, their commentators (on EVERY sport) are absolutely ****ing awful.
