In the circumstances, it's the worst point you can get. This is worse than losing comfortably in a way.
I thought we attacked well. The problem was that Wigan were just sitting deep. It's not easy to score against any team in that situation.
It's highly frustrating, but ultimately it is nowhere near as bad as losing. Losing this game would have been a disaster, even without Reading winning. After the lunchtime result, a draw was ALWAYS going to keep the gap between ourselves and QPR the same. But we've wasted a great chance to finally, finally pull clear. We could have been nine points clear of QPR, and six points clear of Wigan (and, as it turned out, five points clear of Villa). And, amazingly, just four points behind 10th place. We threw away two points, but we didn't lose. And that was easily the most important thing. This is going right down to wire, I'm pretty sure of that.
Yeah he is positive but he needs 1 on 1 training from lambert to learn how to score. He should have another 5 goals this season from the chances he's had and positions he has got himself in
I'd like to see Lallana and Rodriguez on the wing for the next one. Puncheon has gone off the boil, and ought to be dropped to the bench. If nothing else, it might wake him up.
Of course I am, i'm on about the people that go way over the top. It's not like we are in relegation and 5 points off safety, we are still very much in the mix to survive. Yes I would have loved a win but at least we didn't hand a relegation rival 3 points. We are still 3 points clear of the bottom 3 so it's not all doom and gloom like some people make out.
Well if everyone else can drone on as if we've hit liquidation because we lost points from a winning position, then I can celebrate winning points from a losing position
When I meant losing I didn't mean this game. For example this is worse than losing to West Brom comfortably, or City away when we were leading.
Why do people think it is a good point? If we cant expect 3 points aginst wigan then we cant against anyone. A draw against any team below us is a bad result. Im not over reacting and saying results like this will send us down, but we need 7 points from our next 4 games.
On the basis that I don't think we you can class away to Newcastle as an easy-ish game any more (the did the January business, imo), then it's three games time, at home to QPR. Try, try, try and get one point from these two games against Man City and Newcastle, and then do everything to beat QPR.
Sorry but I'm too pissed off at the moment to see the positive side. Maybe I'll stay off this site until later.
All very well if we were the ones who had scored in the 90th minute... I said I'd take a point at half-time and I will, but we were winning with 5 minutes to go, and to draw in that situation is not good. Especially against a Wigan side which showed very little.
If you're not over-reacting, then why immediately follow it by the statement? I agree that we need to win one of these next four, but i don't think we'll need as many as seven points.
A point away from home is always a result, in any league. Also, all our home games are there to be won; all of them. That's not the same as saying we will win them all, just that we can. I'd back us to beat anyone at St Marys, and I'd take a draw away from home against anyone.
