Still 3 points from relegation but the way Reading are going they might end up pulling away from it. Newcastle winning as well. No team in the bottom 7 lost today.

Before the game, what were we saying? A point is better for us than them.

Villa have got no closer, and neither have QPR or Wigan. Reading have, okay.

    As you were. COYR!

We were losing at HT, so the second half did count for something.

    Positives
    -Tactics spot on from MP
-Outplayed Wigan for at least 80 minutes
    -Shaw looked quality yet again
    -Adam's getting sharper
    -Good subs for a change...
-Forren must be getting close to match fitness

    Negatives
-Conceding from 2 corners is unacceptable

Counted for keeping ourselves three points above the drop zone. We're now close to guaranteed to exit our stretch playing most of the top teams clear of the relegation zone.

At the beginning of the year, I felt that, if we exited the Man City game 17th or better, we would survive. Doing so on goal differential ain't quite what I had in mind, but I still think we're in good shape.

"play like that for the rest of the season we will be fine" Clearly not. Play so well but always drop silly points.

These "bad results" are coming away from home in tough matches. I think to dominate Man Utd and Wigan utterly in two second halves where we should have run ourselves ragged with the effort levels is incredibly promising. Someone is going to come to St Mary's soon and get a hiding!

Your not dissapointed about being 2 minutes away from picking up 3 points from a relegation rival in game we've dominated and deserved to win while all teams around us pick up either a point or three? Most people aren't depressed, but understandably frustrated.

We are the anti reading, they are **** and score late to win, we are good and concede late to drop points. No pressure to get points from Newcastle and qpr now

Incredibly disappointing to knock on the door for so long, finally take the lead and then let it slip but we don't HAVE to get anything against Man City. Barring something unusual happening we'll still be outside the relegation zone having already played four of the top six (Man City, Man Utd, Everton and Arsenal) twice.

We'd be level with Wigan, and with a good chance to be 18th after next weekend. That's a pretty significant something. Sucks that we had the opportunity to put some distance between ourselves and the drop zone, but it certainly isn't a meaningless result.

It's true that it's a good point at the end of the day, but it is galling to lose a lead to such a lacklustre opponent. Wigan deserved nothing from that game. Just as we thought our defensive problems were solved, the last few games we've conceded sloppy goals again.

Problem is the longer the new manager goes without a win the more people that will get on his back asking why Adkins was replaced and confidence may be dented by conceding late which was such a blow.

Another positive that I haven't seen anyone mention yet but Jay Rod has been absolutely sensational in the last few games for us (stretching back as far as Villa away), definite MotM for me.

Our attackers haven't covered themselves in glory either. Lack of level headedness or quality. With the number of shots and pressure we only scored two...like against united the other night. Not scoring enough! It's easy to only blame the defence.

If that's aimed at me well .

We played well against Everton and could not score .

We played well against MANU and scored 1 !!!

I expected to beat or at least draw at wigan today GUTTED with the draw But we did score 2

    Next up Man city ...

I Love saints BUT I am worried at the moment that as we miss chances to score , the pressure will build and our goal scoring will get worse .
