    Dutch football eh.

    Crap league, poor standard etc.

Also home to one of the great cornerstones of European football, the club that breeds pure footballers, including some of the finest to grace the planet over any given number of years, the great Ajax Amsterdam.

No league title, a team, a club, in terminal decline, the ability to develop players and sell at a profit diminishing due to the bigger clubs in the bigger leagues tapping up and giving houses and cars to dads of 14 year old kids.

Add to the that the 'new' breed of Dutch clubs, in the guise of AZ Alkmaar and FC Twente, and that beautiful old institution has been limping along like a 3 legged sheep.

Step up Frank De Boer, club legend and icon, a bit of a reshuffle and some heart into the players, and a final day decider against FC Twente

Twente are top by a point, and visit second placed Ajax for a title decider.

For once, and for all the pleasure that Amsterdamsche Football Club Ajax NV (!)has given every football fan on the planet, i am willing on the 'giant'

Currently Ajax 1- 0 Fc Twente, a beautifully taken goal by Siem De Jong, as you'd expect, a talented player developed through the famed Ajax academy.

The match is live on bet365, and it's wonderful entertainement, both sets of fans making a real din, nerves, great touches and as mentioned, a wonderfully executed volley.

    Specifically Ajax, again.

Then there's Christian Eriksen who is going to be a huge star, and one to look out for is Christian Lodeiro, a young Uruguayan who may well be a £30 million job if he develops as he looks capable.

Ajax is not just a football club, it's one of the foundations of European football, and beyond.

Not always mate, the vast majority of them have been, but they had the Dane Martin Olsen about 10 years back, and had a stack of British gaffers for a few years back in the 50's.

They normally go for ex players, i guess there knowledge of the academy system helps keep the club moving.

2-1 Ajax now, but Twente look very capable of equalizing and retaining their title.
