One day fergie will reveal some very interesting things about the FA and I suspect they are utterly ****ting themselves. hes clever enough to wait until they cannot touch him though and a book will be released.
The club volunteered to pay those fines, as part of their support for his position. Crazy that, a football club standing by one of its most valued employees...and it's not like Ferguson shot anyone... And as for $1 billion, you should check the most recent figures, rather than cling to ones from a year ago and ones that mention the owners, not the club: http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2011-...buying-back-team-s-bond-in-third-quarter.html ã477 million gross debt is a lot less than $889 million owed to a Russian with notoriously short patience... http://blogs.forbes.com/mikeozanian...ost-valuable-soccer-teams-inside-the-numbers/ "The Blues are the most leveraged team on our list, with $889 million of debt and have depended on Abramovich’s deep pockets for financing." I'd hate to be holding the bag for that debt when Abramovich finally gets bored...or when the Russians kick Putin and his cronies out and Abramovich ends up sharing a cell with Khodorkovsky Still struggling with that reading thing aren't you None of them are unfair, SAF's included. But if the FA are going to charge SAF with making innocuous comments about a referee purely because they are made before the game, surely they should then charge every manager who makes comments about a referee before the game? Remember that the FA has not said SAF's comments are in any way unfair or have any of this "hidden meaning" that seems to be your new "mantra"...
Dunno why this deserves a thread. Fergie's positive comments, in light of what has been going on re Jose and ref comments, Fergie's comments previously, no commnet on ref performance is permitted, simple really, not good or bad, good comments may be seen as an attempt to get favourable treatment by the ref even if that was not the intention. Thats it really not much else to it, the FA followed the letter of the law, if they didn't it is claimable that Fergie was buttering up webb before the biggest game of the season with the previous concerns webb was a united ref n all that. They took action htey didnt go too far but just made their point, hopefully this is consistent throughout this next season too for all managers. The more managers get envolved with refs either good or bad will destroy impartiality altogether, what remains of it anyway
When Carlo said much the same thing before the game anything the FA do is a joke... It will get to a point when teams tell the FA to go **** themselves and break away and the only people to blame will be the FA. Its happened before involving the Football League all be it different circumstances.
As I said, Fergie broke te rules, if Carlo did and got away with it it changes nothing in Fergie's case, that is another matter, inconsistency in the FA, are you joking? United have benefitted from this a lot, now other teams do too. As I also said, I hope this is applied to all managers going forward to just cut it out altogether, it was also because of the widspread concern of Webbs loyalties, even though the FA and refs association may not think they are in question, the public are wondering and Fergie chose an ill time to make any comments about refs good or bad, as with Rooney and te Camera, Fergie left the FA with no choice, I think if the ref was someone else it may have slipped by, but Webb, that was Fergie blunder, a minor one, I mean the punishment was token.
Shouldnt of been punished. If refs are unquestionable they shouldnt be doing the job. Imagine you couldnt question the police or the government. Just imagine it.
C'mon, you know how the world works, it is not fairness, it is influence politics and power, lets be real about that, the FA is an inconsistent beast at the best of times and are swayed by the general media concensus. When the media hype an event up, such as Fergie blasting a ref, the FA have to act, when they charged him for making comments, it wasn't negative comments, just making the references at all was the offence, hence this is an offence, no matter who got away with it, that is another matter with the FA, nothing new, as some on here have stated over and over, the Rules the rules and Fergie has gotten away with outlandish remarks over the years and seeing as he is one of the most prominant figures in football, it is time to silence him seeing as football gets so much media coverage, his bad loser attitude should not be broadcast to a generation of young footballers, it is ok to be pished off at a post match interview but not to be spouting dross to MUTV later on when you have calmed down, that is just bile, not emotion. he is a great manager, don't get me wrong, no pop at Fergie, we all have our faults and keeping his gob shut was never one of his traits but is part of who he is I suppose
I wouldn't worry one bit, if they go bunched United will be an asset they will sell to probably better owners, it is just pox that they will hold the club as long as tey can to drain it unfortunately, H&G style
A fine example of the United Mantra Caught with your pants down (again) and with no plausible reply attack another team to deflect the humiliation. How Sir Have Another One. Still having a problem with identifying the offending Ancelotti comment Swarbs? Or was that another losing the argument mantra?
Kudos to an opposition fan for finally admitting that Utd are treated differently to all the other clubs based on their higher media profile. Couldn't have put it better myself Aha, I've worked out what this "mantra" thing is. It's what Chelsea fans wheel out when they've just been shown up in yet another argument, in an attempt to try and save face. Now it's so much clearer, thanks for the clarification Ginge
Good attempt at laughing it off but you still refuse to come up with the comment though? Typical plastic bring a knife to a gun fight
Like I said Ginge Maybe you need to borrow cym's reading glasses. Or is the new Chelsea "mantra" the Wenger-esque "I didn't see it"?
Its pointless Swarbs, you just keep avoiding the issue so why should I bother? you made a statement that Carlo said the same or worse and got away with it and I said show me the money? Like your club mate, Potless Enjoy the humiliation on the 28th
