The Italian manager made six changes in midweek as the Hornets failed to score for the first time in 14 games and were beaten 2-0 by Bristol City. Zola is expected to recall 30-goal strike duo Matej Vydra and Troy Deeney, who were restricted to just half-an-hour at Ashton Gate. Nat Chalobah, Marco Cassetti, Lloyd Doyley and Christian Battocchio are also pushing for returns to the line-up. Midfielder Ikechi Anya (hamstring) and defender Neuton (back) will be assessed ahead of kick-off as they make their way back from injury. Tommie Hoban is also closing in on a return from his Achilles injury, but Saturday is likely to come too soon for the defender. Craig Dawson is in line to make his Bolton debut. Dawson joined Wanderers on loan from West Brom last week but was cup-tied for the 2-1 defeat by Everton. The England Under-21 international will contest a place at the heart of defence with Zat Knight and Tim Ream but the match may come too soon for midfielder Medo Kamara, who joined on transfer deadline day from Partizan Belgrade. Keith Andrews remains sidelined with thigh and Achilles problems but Bolton have no new injury worries. Stuart Holden and David Wheater will continue their rehabilitation from lengthy knee injury absences by turning out for Wanderers' under-21 side against Manchester City on Friday night.
Thanks Mex good one again. Think that they are all well used and when you see 50 plus watching what is happening during a game it must be popular.
Great stuff Mex - 5*'s from me. Going with my fav 3-1 to Watford - but need to watch out for a couple of ex-players..
One of them with an article from the Bolton news, http://www.theboltonnews.co.uk/sport/10199712.Marv_poised_for_take_off/
Of course I want Watford to win, but as I can'tget to the game I hope Marvin S gets a great welcome and if he scores, a very good round of applause. Thanks Mex for the thread.
Also from the BBC TEAM NEWS Strike duo Matej Vydra and Troy Deeney, who have 30 goals between them this season, are likely to be recalled by Watford boss Gianfrano Zola. The pair missed the 2-0 midweek defeat by Bristol City in a game in which Zola made six changes. Southampton winger Steve de Ridder joined Bolton on transfer deadline day. The 25-year-old loanee goes straight into Saturday's matchday squad, while injured duo David Wheater and Mark Davies also return to contention. MATCH FACTS Head-to-head • Bolton are looking for a sixth successive victory over Watford in league and cup. • Their 1-0 victory in their most recent trip to Vicarage Road in the Premier League in February 2007 was their first and only away league win over the Hornets. • A Tommy Mooney penalty two minutes from time in October 2000 secured Watford's last victory over the Trotters, and kept them at the top of the table. Watford • Promotion-chasing Watford are still smarting from Tuesday's visit to Bristol City, when they saw their three-match winning sequence ended by a shock 2-0 defeat against the bottom-of-the-table side. • They still go into this game on 49 points, four points outside the top two, and on their best equivalent return for five seasons. • The Hornets are the Championship's top scorers, with 56 goals from 29 outings. Bolton Wanderers • Bolton have won fewer away games in the Championship than any other club, having returned with maximum points from only Blackburn and Sheffield Wednesday. • The Trotters have squandered an unrivalled 21 Championship points from winning positions, after drawing four games and losing three in which they held the lead. • Kevin Davies could make his 400th Bolton appearance and Sam Ricketts his 100th.
thanks for doing the thread Mex ..great stuff. I hope we can get back to winning ways tomorrow..and i'm going for a 3-1 home win. It's typical that MS is finding form, but as i never rated him that highly when he was with us, and he hasn't had much league game time, i'm not worried. We'll have him pegged i'm sure. Just hoping the weather and the journey and the result are all better than Tuesday!
Having stated in an earlier thread how much I'd like to see you go up, after having a good look at the table, I have got my prayer mat out and will be praying to every God that I can, that you win tomorrow. Otherwise it puts me in a very nasty position that I wouldn't wish on anyone <shuuders with fear>
Seiing that Middleborough could overtake you if you (we?) lose today <shuuder>, then it would be better if they lost, obviously. Which would leave me having to wosh that they lose. They happen to be away at the Binners today. I would be hoping for a binners win
Has anyone got any idea what this guy is talking about cos I have't - says on his profile he supports Norwich so whats that got to do with Watford vs Bolton? Anyway off to the vic - I think this'll be a difficult game but I hope we get back to winning ways.
Complicated for a bear with very little brain like me but I think I understand - you are definitely one honorary hornet
He supports Norwich so dislikes Ipswich - Ipswich play Middlesborough today and he wants them to beat Ipswich - but needs us to beat Bolton to stop Middlesborough going above us - was this better than sleeping pills He is a closet hornet he says elsewhere
If it bothers you that I have a soft spot for Watford, and have done for quite a few years, and it also bothers you that a visiting fan might want to post on your forum, then I will refrain from doing so,. Apologies if I caused you any offence.
I dont think you have offended anyone Maestro. I dont think yellowtoyou picked up in the Norfolk Suffolk rivalry, and so was confused as to the meaning of the game for you. I dont think anyone has a problem if someone wanted to come out, afterall we owe a lot to one very famous gay. All are welcome here, we arent snobs.
