Now the wheeling n' dealing of the transfer window is over (except for loans) how is the squad looking now?
Well, the midfield has apparently been replenished and we have still have Keds & Birch to cover Deon & Cody.
I assume MA will use Lee & Framps to fill in for the wing backs if required, and Callum will shadow the centre backs.
There is however, one player we can not replicate in house and whose skill would greatly missed if injured
    i.e Myles Weston.
To cover such a situation should we be searching for a wide player who will be able take on defences and
'make things happen' before the loan period ends. Comments please on cover for Weston and the present squad
    in general.

Should not have got rid of Jackman, does that cover it?

My personal view is and this will really get everyone on my case is Weston is not a left winger but more a striker. I've said it so many times and he proved my point on Tuesday. What is it with fans that because a player has been tagged with a position they automatically assume that is his most natural position. So theoretically we still don't have a natural left winger. He puts all the effort in to be undone by quicker and stronger opposition wing backs. Whereas through the middle the big boys can't handle him.

Danny back BRB ? that would do nicely! I was at the Carling Cup game with Plymouth in 2009 when
he came on as sub to make his second 'debut' for the club. The crowd gave him a fantastic Welcome Home.
He actually mentioned that night in his outgoing message last week and how much that meant to him.

Anyway looking to the future now, who thinks we need to loan a proppa winger? A rare breed these days.
Weston as the attacking midfielder then, nutmegging big centre backs. UTG!

Someone like Jordan Obita would have been good, much more strength than Weston, I think he went on loan to Oldham? Pace was ok but memory fades me. Still we have what we have and Weston is ok with me, more than we had under Hessy. Just looking at strengths and weaknesses, nothing more.

brb if you play Weston upfront with Cody where does that leave Kedwell, Burton Birchall.
    Yes i know subs.
I prefer Weston on the wing to supply balls into the box or cut in and score like Jarvis used to.
We have got Dack back who could make a difference on the wing.
Still not convinced in midfield though we seem to be outplayed there in most matches, we lack creativity which is why Weston has to play there.

My view point was based on looking back before the loan of Cody, although stated in the present. However, MA has made a decision now and applies a quandary for me on the left wing. Not saying that Weston is not ok there but I would be looking for more than ok. Whereas on the right that partnership of him and Fish, works that little extra bit of magic, through sheer pace from the back. So maybe Dack is the answer, what do you think?

Yes, I did say up front <ok>

Hence why I clarified...My view point was based on looking back before the loan of Cody, although stated in the present.

I should clarify that I said on Tuesday he (Weston) proved my point, present, proving point of past comments. Which is why I went on to the point of Obita.

    Hope that makes sense?

I think that Weston is getting crowded out too much when on the flanks. I think Weston & McDonald could do with being closer to each other ( in the middle ) - both have pace and could perform quick 'one-two' passes to get behind the defence - rather than expecting Weston to expend large amounts of energy in the hope that he can get around the marking defenders. We have deployed this tactic usually when the ball has been hoofed forward to Weston - when there hasn't always been anyone in the box or near enough to support him.
It should be more profitable to have Weston on the wings when Kedwell is in the middle. His height & strength should produce more goals from crosses than currently exists - but because these goals do not exist, then maybe we shouldn't go down that route.

Thankyou gentlemen for your interesting but different opinions regarding the strenghts of
Myles Weston. Short of sending a snatch squad oop North to kidnap Mr Obita, I guess we
should be pleased that Myles can fulfill more than one role if required to do so.
However, having just seen tonight's result, another unproductive home disapointment, it seems
clear there is/are still a piece /pieces needed to complete the jigsaw.
