As I said on another post, I really don't get this "emergency loan" malarkey. I thought it was there mainly for keepers, so you can bring someone in should your goalkeepers get injured. Or can you just use it for whatever now? Surely you can't attempt to get someone in on an emergency loan because your latest signing has turned out to be sh*t!?

The emergency loan window opens on Feb 8th and then you can sign anyone you like, but the loan in limited to a maximum of 93 days. Anyone who expects to be in the play-off's will wait until Feb 24th, to make sure anyone they loan can remain until the end of the season.
This is what I find odd. We don't know what the fee is, but I bet it's peanuts. Don't we rate him? I just find it strange that a similar club with similar long term ambitions to our own want him and we don't.
From the Football League rules, Section 6: "53.3.10 The Executive shall have discretion to extend the maximum duration of 93 days for an Emergency Loan in extenuating circumstances, such circumstances to be determined in the Executive's absolute discretion." Obviously, what's classed as "extenuating circumstances" in the eye's of the FA's Executive is down to "discretion" but it should constitute an emergency, ie a shortage of players in a certain area.
