Surely they have to have insurance etc Ze, and Doni could drop dead(god forbid)if he hasn't fully recovered.

I know how serious it is, I had to quit playing professionaly ( indoor) last year as I had some heart irregularities and have a small case of ischemia ( bad blood flow). The rigorous stuff I have trouble with now, but I can play amateur, sunday league fine.

Sucks man, goes a bit with your defibrilator petition.

  4. Have to be insured for Sunday League so I'd have thought so

You're one of the lucky ones then Bluff.<ok>

When Muamba 'died' on the pitch at White Hart Lane it should have sent alarm bells throughout the game at all levels not just the pro game, and over the last year or so iv'e read about a couple of fans dying of heart attacks at games, defibs should be available to everyone at football grounds.

  6. Obviously I agree to an extent but nor can we go worrying about everything either, we'd forever be looking over our shoulders and thats simply no way to live!

Think he just means better tests and awareness to catch it earlier. I still don't shy away from a game believe me, I just be sure I have advil/tylenol available, someone is there etc.

  8. Fair enough <ok>

Played footy tonight and got more bumps and bruises than on a Sunday <doh> Managed to smash my dodgy forearm (snapped both bones on 15 April last year) against someones elbow, that ****er hurt and is still aching three hours later!!!

Ouch man. I broke my wrist this summer, went for a header, was under cut landed and felt a knifing pain. Ref called fouled on me but was a bit more wide eyed with my wrist facing a direction it wasn't supposed to. <ok>

  10. Same with my arm. Went in for a challenge far too aggressively so was all tensed up, arm snapped as it hit the ground. Thought someone had kicked me so spun round to have a go before seeing my arm in a S shape <laugh> Fortunately didn't break the skin but had to have an operation (10 days waiting first) to have a metal plate on both bones. Lost 25% of my movement in that arm.

Month off work was a bonus but the most painful bit was not being able to even cuddle my boys during the ten days waiting <ok>

OK I'll come clean because it's worth it. Last October I had a heart attack which ended up with a 999 ambulance blues & 2s and straight into Coronary Care.
The angiogram showed 60-70% blockage of my LAD significant scarring and dead muscle also some problems in the upper chamber from a previous heart attack I didn't even know I'd had. I was lucky. I didn't need a defibrillator but it could easily have been required. The more of these that are available the better. They are almost fool proof and do save lives.

    Fair play dave.<applause>

And those of us the knew kept it quiet as you requested, but that was my point earlier, if a player unfortunately collapses at a game a mini ER appears, if a supporter has the same situation in the stands they ring an ambulance.

Defibs in public places should be made law.<ok>

  13. Sorry to hear your troubles Dave, hope your okay now?

Defibs are law in some countries aren't they? Definitely need them over here too IMO.

My lad is off for a heart test tomorrow, as he is getting more and more into training for footy we thought it a good idea. It seems that in Europe most pro leagues test their players but we don't in this country.

People think we are nuts but what's the harm? He'll know it's ok to push himself without any problems.
