Looking strong on paper & looking strong on the pitch are two completely different things with Q.P.R. at the moment. We will find out tomorrow what is in prospect!
Andy Townsend is also a left mid. If Harry can get Bosingwa playing again and does a job for us I might find myself fickle enough to accept it. I wouldn't boo or jeer the bloke if he did ever appear for us again. It's a case of all hands to the pump from here on in. That includes us too.
We signed Andy Townsend!?? Blimey, he's a bit old, even for us Fair enough though Nines, good to know that young Andros gives us a bit of cover for the left mid position
Lol. I remember when I first saw him linked with us I had to do a double take when seeing his name. I shall remain calling him it for hilarity purposes. Thanks for the nice reply have some rep TIMK. You too Oslo.
Like the squad - this crew should be more than capable of getting the job done in our upcoming games and avoiding relegation. No Crouch or Odemwingie, so we need Bothroyd & DJ to step up and perform when called upon. Good to see Hoilett & Mackie in the mix and not given away as part of a transfer deal. I guess Bosingwa is out of the penalty box now, we're paying him, so might as wll use hime - maybe he will find redemption and we need cover in that RB position (perhaps Luke Young not fully fit?). Cmon U Rsssssssssss, let's give Norwich a good drubbing tomorrow!
Oh, how much would we all like to see a good drubbing of Norwich! It would be a real statement of intent and set down a marker. Let's 'ave 5-0 or better!
http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11711/8462876 explains the exclusion of these two from the squad...
I reckon we might now see the best of Bosingwa if and when he gets his chance, for the pure fact that if he dare not put in 100%, 100% of the time, and redeem himself, he will be elevated out of the ground on a tsunamic (?) wave of hostility and launched into an eternal, bollock spinning orbit of hate. Prove me right Jose.
Fulham Chronicle """"""" QPR manager springs a surprise in his 25-man squad By Paul Warburton Feb 1 2013 Jose Bosingwa OUT of favour Jose Bosingwa is a surprise inclusion in QPR’s new 25-man squad – but Andy Johnson is finally ruled out for the season. The striker has been omitted after sustaining cruciate ligament damage in September and failing to recover in time. But the Portuguese right back (pic) is in despite suffering a £100,000 fine, around two weeks wages, for refusing to sit on the bench before the 2-1 defeat to neighbours Fulham in December. As revealed exclusively by Chronicle sport, his manager has held out an olive branch to the former Chelsea player as Rangers bid to escape the Premier League drop zone. Redknapp said: “Bosingwa’s been fined and we have to move on.” Although DJ Campbell is also named in the 25, the QPR boss admits there is a distinct possibility the striker will get loaned out even though his protracted move to Blackburn Rovers collapsed hours before Thursday's deadline. “Maybe DJ can go on loan next week or a bit later,” Rednapp added. """""""""" Just hope we can recall him quick if he does go out!
Fulham Chronicle """"""""""""""""""""" QPR player's career threatened by injury By Paul Warburton Feb 1 2013 Add a comment Luke Young QPR defender Luke Young is close to calling it a day on his 15-year career, according to his boss. The 33-year-old right back has not featured since Rangers were beaten 3-1 by Sunderland a year ago next month when the former Aston Villa player failed to own up to a hip problem, and paid for it by losing his place in the team. Since when Young (pic) has continued to suffer the same hip injury that kept him from being named in the 25-man squad both now and last August. However, Harry Redknapp reckons the right-back who totalled £10.5 million in transfers with 400 league games behind him, and who earned the last of his seven England caps in 2009, is almost at the end of an illustrious career. The manager explained: “Luke is struggling. “He’s had these injuries since before I came here, and he still can’t get fit. He doesn’t feel good about his injury. His future’s looking, you know... and he’s got to look at it. “He’s got a similar thing to what Bobby Zamora had, but it’s not looking good for him.” """""""""""""""""""""""""""
Strangely worded this, seems to be suggesting that Young deceived or misled the club about the nature or even the very existence of his injury. What possible motive could he have for doing this, and is the writer implying that he possibly joined the club with an undisclosed injury? Either way, not great news.
