lamah is listed as a striker by bbc,he played a central role when he came on against sunderland,i bet this is our striker plan "b" for the rest of the season.
No real out and out strikers but players that can cover several roles; Who does that sound like? Lets hope Lamah will come good. He did look a threat against Sunderland.
I hope Lamah comes good, I could see why he would make a good striker with his physical attributes but I haven't seen him shooting under pressure yet so not sure how good his finishing is. Let's hope he's a gem.
Sir mike has made a huge blunder and let us and his team down with his lack luster approach of making sure we go into the second half of the season prepared....to sell our top striker and not replace him is bad management and he knows it too....Its just as well we have enough points on the board really or we would be in trouble...
Top striker? Sub at best this season, and not even first choice on the bench, do you purposely contradict yourself? I'm sure I have seen you many times saying that Danny "isn't good enough" and even saying he should be played in midfield? Now as soon as he is gone he is out beat striker in your eyes? Oooookay then, no need for a striker untill the summer, we have done well up till now, and will get better value at the end of the season!
To be honest I think Laudrup has spoken a lot of sense. Graham was just the 3rd choice at some points this season and obviously had issues behind the scenes. I can't imagine Laudrup or Huw being held to ransom by any club who thought we were desperate to sign a new striker, as apparently one deal was close for a loan signing but the chairman of the other club changed the rules late on, obviously expecting us to buckle in desperation. I wouldn't mind betting that we try for Aspas again in the summer as he made it clear he wasn't moving in this window. We're pretty safe and are doing well, there's no guarantee that a £10 million panic buy would have worked so it made little sense. http://www.walesonline.co.uk/footballnation/football-news/2013/02/01/91466-32727880/
, I've no doubt that Mr Laudrup was saying the truth when he said he didn't know what was happening with Graham and by the time it was resolved it was too late .I'm sure you'll agree he hasn't steered us wrong to date and I've no doubt that'll continue. Taken from Sky " Swansea boss Michael Laudrup is confident he has the resources to cope without striker Danny Graham. Sunderland agreed a £5m deal with Swansea to take Grahamback to his native north-east, ending a month of speculation regarding his future. But as Laudrup prepares his team for Saturday's trip to West Ham, he is content to have his talisman Michu available following his recent decision to extend his contract at the Liberty Stadium. Laudrup said: "It wasn't that Danny was unhappy but it was a combination of going elsewhere to play regularly, and especially the chance to go back home, which was his desire. "I told him it was okay and I understood, but he had to understand there was the economic side. "Once the offer from Sunderland was good enough, Swansea as a club were happy and that combination made it clear it was a decision we had to leave him go. "I still believe I have options in the squad. Danny is a good player, but remember he was not playing regularly. "I still think inside the team, even with injuries, we have possibilities to have quite a competitive team. We have scored more goals than last season. We have others who have scored goals. "You can never argue about numbers but we still have our top scorer. We have not sold Michu. We have sold a player who was on the bench."
he was our top striker and played a part in most games whether coming off the bench or not. he has scored some important goals recently so don't lessen his impact with us just because he has gone, be truthful and say laudrup has made an error of judgement not the fact he let him go but the fact he left it to late to bring in a replacement. He would not have been in such a panic yesterday trying all ways to get a striker if he did not want one....There is nothing worse than fans who wont except he made an error because they think it was planned because it definitely was not....to little to late for someone who said before Danny left that we needed a striker......i call it poor management and a huge error on his part...
"We have sold a player who was on the bench" When you put it like that, it all makes sense, we sold a bench player for 5M to a "massive club". Good deal. Dai, is stirring the pot.
Nobody is saying it was planned Dai, it's obviously not the best scenario, it's just that it's not really that bad either. I think we were all waiting up last night hoping that something was coming through last minute, and we were disappointed when it didn't, but on reflection, I'd rather us not be held over a barrel by some club who think we're desperate, and spend a fortune on a player who's not right for the club, that's not how we do things and that's why we're where we are. Laudrup will have his targets and will know what he wants to pay for them. Sir Mike won't be pissed about by any club thinking we need to buy desperately, because we really don't
I'm very angry with laudrup at the moment as he had all the window period to bring in a striker like he said we needed whether Danny was sold or not. This is a big error not a mishap and there was no excuse for it. Now with Danny gone then we are weaker up front and what happens if michu gets injured?? we will definitely struggle for goals then...no im sorry there is no excuse to miss the deadline...and what gets me is it was him saying we need a striker in the first place....
I 'm not qualified to say whether an error of judgement has been made , we all have opinions but to judge a man who has a lot more insight into the workings of the club comes across as a bit naff to be honest. Mr Laudrup will be judged on the final day of the season as whether the club was wrong .Theres been two games recently in which Lomah has come on and had a couple of opportunities to score, now whether he is the "replacement striker" I don't know but I'm sure the management do .
ffs stop being so childish because you know im right......he panicked yesterday trying to get a striker before the deadline and like it said in the paper he failed and its his fault....no question about it ...i have been hearing it all day and the fans are angry about it...would he be trying all ways to get a striker yesterday if he was not bothered ...i doubt it....all that time he had and he failed so that puts to bed the myth that players would be climbing mountains to play for him doesn't it....
Don't panic Dai, theres always free agents. Crespo, Carew, Heskie could dig out their zimmer frames lol
I don`t know the ins and outs of the DG business, but if as one of the posters (sorry can`t remember who said it) said, he is suffering from "white line fever", then perhaps it`s just as well that he has gone, I like DG, but classing him as a "top striker" is a bit unfounded. Admittedly he`s been on the bench for the bigger part of the season, but he has only scored 3 league goals, that`s 2 less that JDG & WR and the same number as ND. Obviously if he has personal problems, that did`nt help either, so perhaps it might be in his best interests to try elsewhere. If Lord Laudrup isn`t overly concerned about the inactivity and unrealistic prices in this transfer window, then who are we to argue? Yes, we all know better than the people in charge, don`t we! Let`s see how it goes over the next couple of months, then we can all say "I told you so". I would`nt mind seeing Chico up front !!!!!!!!!!
my father in law is available without said zimmer frame, might take him 90 minutes to move from defence to attack though, 20 quid and he is swanseas
I think the case is that he would have brought in a striker he wanted, none were available due to dodgy chairmen and players wanting to wait till the summer due to loyalty( a good thing in my book ). Add to that i think Sunderland were hoping for a cheap deal because danny had expressed he wanted to go there and it took a Middlesborough offer to get them to the right level. Every possibility seemed that it would be better in the summer. With Swansea at 8th and only 15 games left in the season i would rather get the player we want than a random one. I think Lago Aspas was the preferred signing thats not availalable till the summer and Jones would have been a like for like replacement. As long as we sign a superstar in the summer im super happy
