No Rufflad. That's the one and only Cheshire Cheese. It's a very old pub, 3rd oldest in Warrington I think. It's funny, because it does look like a nice country pub. I remember one Sunday a while back. I was outside having a *** with a couple of the lads. This range rover pulls in and a middle-aged man and woman got out. He was tweeded up to ****. I said this should be good for a giggle. Even at 12.15 pm it was quite busy and there's no bar on swearing of any kind in there. The fella said. "Are you doing Sunday dinner?". Landlady (rougharse geordie) said "no". He said "Do you have food of any description?". She said "We've got Scampi Fries, pork scratchings, peanuts and crisps. If you hang around for an hour or so, I'll be doing some sausage and chips for the darts lads." "I see. Thank you" said the bloke. I watched them carefully. They sat down for about two minutes, then a Liverpool - united 'discussion' began. Straight out of they side door they went. Funny as **** So yeah, that's the Cheese.
Petula Clark is the Cheese landlady's favoutite singer. You'd go down well if you put a few of hers on the jukie. She's worth one too If you're serious about coming up, There's a hotel called the Patten Arms in Warrington. I think cost is as low as about £25 per night. I haven't got the room to put you up I'm afraid.
Sounds beautiful, greatly decieving from the outside too. Be great to have a few there, no idea when/how this can be factored though.
Swarbs has been a couple of times. They've even got cask ale of draft for those who don't appreciate the exquisitely-flavoured taste of Carling. Don't forget the free sambuca as well
I'd come up at some point but equally not sure how I'd factor it in my busy social life.. If chief goes as well I'd make the effort one Saturday night.. Though I would expect a pub crawl.. Not just sitting in one boozer all night. Especially if the ale is ****.
Therin lies the problem, getting away for piss up weekends in nigh on impossible at the moment. I've got golf, stag and cricket ones already sorted for the coming months and it is very much frowned upon that I seem to be repeating last year, although at least they aren't abroad like last year.
I'd be open to going up to watch the 2nd leg of the Real game there as we haven't looked into tickets have we? Bit of a schlep for Swarbs though. And torture for Red when we win!
Ah yes I remember now.. I registered for tickets for the real game.. Not had a response. I keep getting offered fa cup tickets .. The issue is I'm not a member so members get first dibs at tickets. They will all go for the real game I think even the shot seats up in the gods. How would we do Warrington and back for the real game and get pissed?? I could get the next day off though easy enough.
Just double checked its a ballot for official members only and all season ticket holders get first option with an additional payment. We got no chance. I've still got my name down for the home game with Everton. Reckon I will get offered them if you fancy that one. Though you won't be able too as its a Sunday game. Just checked looks like Everton sold out.. Only games available are reading in the cup & league.
Been off the ales for a while and on the beer, just bought a case of Corona I prefer a light beer when watching the footy.
