Some of you may not have seen this, but it's one of my favourite match reports with a typical HDM content. Brought to mind by a discussion about Kilbane on CI. http://www.htfc-world.com/reports/Hull/hull151103.htm
That sites funny but it documents what a horrible game that was. The performance & result didn't get any better the year after when they beat us 4-0. The McAlpine/ Galpharm isn't one of my facourite grounds.
It's amazing what scorelines will do to perception. The 4-0 performance was below average for us that season but it wasn't that terrible. The only stat Huddersfield out did us on was goals. I know it's the only one that counts, but we actually had more shots on target, more possession, and I think more freekicks (their OWS doesn't seem to want to load the match report for me today). I only remember it so well because I came out of the game and went and spent the day with a Huddersfield supporting friend who wouldn't have it that they weren't that much better than us and had just taken almost every chances they were given on the day, and that "if that's your best performance of the season you'll be midtable at best". When the report was put on their site confirming it they weren't amused, they were even less amused when they finished midtable and their manager had said in the 2nd half of the season that their home game against us was their best performance.
Their OWS - no idea My friend - nothing, we'd gone into town so we didn't know anything about it until the next day. The cartoon website - I don't think anything, he just does it for games he's been to so it's mainly been their home games.
The all round performance wasn't though or we'd have been double figured. It was only because they scored 4 goals from 5 or 6 shots on target and we couldn't shoot with any conviction that it looked so bad. In a normal game given the chances each side made we'd have taken at least a point. (and yes I was there to see it)
