Sorry but it makes a team look like a bit of a joke when they launch their car with just one driver, does not do a lot for their reputation as a team serious about moving up the order.

Nice to see the stepped noses finally begin to vanish.

I can't remember if it came from Scarbs or JA, but apparently the vanity panel is pretty much single ply carbon fibre, with a honeycomb interior. It weighs a few hundred grams, which is more than I expected.

Can somebody please tell me what a vanity panel is, where it's located on the car, and which of the cars thus far have them, I have no idea what you guys are talking about <wah>

Basically, the regs last year lead to the ugly stepped noses. This year, the regulations governing the height of bulkheads, etc, on the front of the car hasn't changed, so most teams would be expected to have a stepped nose, as this appears to be the best way of optimising air flow under the car, which is more important than over the top. To counter this, the FIA have allowed teams to cover over the stepped nose with a piece of bodywork which isn't structural - the vanity panel.

The design looks plain to me. Can't see any noticeable changes apart from the nose.

Is there anything in the design that might explain why they were having such problems with the tyres? Did they try Mclaren's trick of having an aluminium axle?

Force India seem to have a good car this year yet things keep conspiring against them to stop them getting good results. They have 14 points so far yet I think they could have well into the 40's if their results were matching their speed.
