All good points. Just a word about Marin, De Bruyne etc. Please don't lose sight of the fact that almost all foreign players take up to a season to settle into the rhythm of the PL. Drogba did, RVP did, Thierry Henry did.
It's way too soon to make any judgement on these players particularly with the fiasco that is our management and the chaos that is our team.

Ah of course, McEachran, how could I forget. So add him to the list and make that 8 players - all quite similar in characteristic - competing for 3 midfield positions... it's ludicrous imho.

McEachran is a deeper midfielder, hasnt been playing in the further attacking midfield for Boro

We literally got rid of Essien, Meireles, McEachran and Chalobah in the last year either on loan or on sale and Romeu had a bad injury that means we wont get anything out of him, right now Ramires and Lampard are being overplayed because they are all we have

A creative central midfielder is the priority to me, but it wouldnt be a bad idea if he could tackle as well

I love Sneijder the player, but I feel he would hinder the roles of Mata and Hazard, dont think we can play all three as we still cry out for a natural winger

My midfield concerns are aimed more at a deep lying midfielder with an eye for a pass and possibly a great tackling ability

Madrid and Barca took the obvious two, Song and Modric could have been great in our midfield, either as a pairing or just one of them but instead they rot on the benches of the Spanish duo

And with Drogba leaving, it was the right thing for all, he couldnt have left on a better note, and we should have signed Van Persie, im pretty sure Wenger would have sold him to us if we enquired, but know we have a 50m striker who is apparently better than both Suarez and Van Persie combined, his proce tag confirms this

I don't understand why we play 2 holding players. Why do we need this against Reading FFS. Even at home against the likes of Southampton we play this system. To top it all we play Ramires and Lampard in the role and they can't play there. It's an absolute farce. We play scared. We are Chelsea, Champions of Europe FFS.

Too True. Luiz and Lampard looked very good together, much to the suprise of most of us. Luiz for me is a no brainer in mid, he has more vision and passing skills than anyone else, given we seem incapable of playing youngsters. Lamps lifts heaps with Luiz firing quick passes forwards. With JT returning, the whole thing slows down once he and Lamps start their sideways , backwards passing to each other.Ramires cannot control the midfield, but thrives on good service. Until we get the great midfielder we need, it' Luiz and Lamps for me, and Luiz and Mikel when he's back with Lamps 1st choice sub to switch things around. Only problem is that goat posing as a manager.

It really grips me that we are in a position (yet again) where we are fighting to finish in the top 4. We should be fighting for the title with the squad we have. No question.

Luiz is injured,Mikel is at ACoN,Romeu is injured. Who else but Lamps and Ramires do you think we should be playing? It's funny but when Rafa played Mikel and others there other fans were clamouring for Lamps to play. Damned if you do,damned if you don't but you can't be damned if there are no options.

We should go back to a 4-3-3. 4-2-3-1 doesn't suit us.

I agree completely but obviously we'd lose some of our attacking intent. With Oscar,Mata and Hazard not tracking back/being any good at tracking back we need to play the 2 behind them. One thing these last few weeks have shown is just how much we do miss Mikel. He isn't a great passer but he breaks up play more than any 2 players we play there now.

Doesn't matter which system/formation we play, when Torres is in the team it all goes out the window, it's like playing with 10 men on the pitch. We can see it week in week out, the guy is useless and has no signs of getting better. If we get a manager big enough to tell RA to let him manage, then our problems will be over until such time we will remain, as fan's but frustrated one's.

Ok I get your point. So why play the system if we dont have the players to play it? It's square pegs in round holes.

<ok> This. It has to be Ba up front. he scores goals and we look a lot more fluent with him in the team. If you play with 1 up front then the striker has to contribute to the goals. Torres doesn't. We've paid 50m for him and the bottom line is that he's a striker. He's paid to score goals.
