It doesn't matter. You have now fell behind the pace. You really need to step up if you going to get back into the running. Signing 1 player isn't the answer, your whole team needs to chip in more and you need 2 or 3 players to push on and get into double figures We have Nugent, Knockaert and Wood all capable of pushing on and getting into double figures with King, Marshall, Waghorn, Vardy and Dyer scoring their fair share You only have Aluko scoring a decent amount of goals
Surely you can't think that brining in players who have not played in this country before is a good move at this critical time of year?
I've already posted on this thread that I'd have liked to have seen a striker with English experience, but I'm hardly going write off a striker who's scored 17 international goals in 32 games, before I've even seen him play. Our poor form in the past few weeks has mainly been down to the recall of Stockdale and Elmohamady, Jakupovic simply isn't good enough and has now cost us a couple of games and we don't look nearly as dangerous with Elmo out the side. Having them both back now is a big plus, we've also added a two unknown quantities, only time will tell if they're good enough, but it's going to be fun finding out.
Apart from hardwork and a bit of pace there is completely nothing to his game. He doesnt do nothing with the ball, snatches at chances, doesnt create anything, cant hold the ball up. He just does nothing what so ever. Nothing against the lad as he has jumped up through alot of leagues but it was too much too soon for the lad. A year at Fleetwood in League 2 would have been the best thing for him and then to maybe move up a league or 2 but he isnt ready for this league. When he plays he contributes nothing. I think Futacs, Waghorn or Schlupp are better options
Like Newcastle did with Cisse last year ... Everton with Jelavic ..... there is no point generalising ... some players hit the ground running like those two did ... some take a whole season before they 'acclimatise' whether it be to the league or the team ... by the end of Feb the 'final push' contenders will be more apparent ....
I think that's a bit harsh ... if he ends up with 10 goals in his first season (which he could well do) that will do for me ... he showed enough at the lower level when in front of goal to suggest that when his confidence is high he can bang them in - he is also the type of player that it is good to bring on when you are winding the clock down coz he will run himself into the ground chasing down defenders etc ...
He did a fantasic job against Middlesbrough of doing that. If it was for some brilliance by Kasper, Vardy would have cost us 2 points Last night he didnt do anything and when ever he starts to sum up his whole game would be uneffective. He is a bigger passenger then King
1) ... but it didn't ... 2) ... he came on and did what the manager asked and we won again .. and Andy King had a good game last night ... the only starting player that I found disappointing (i.e without some reasonable excuse like tight marking etc) IMHO was Marshall ... but footie is all about opinions ..
