I've never really been a great fan of Andy King, but credit where credit is due. I didn't think he did his usual disappearing act last night and had a very solid game. Also, in this day of play acting and diving, how well did he do in not play acting, after that horrendous challenge by Henry that should have been a straight red card!!
I agree with you .... not sure how the ref judged it but I've seen similar tackles get straight reds ... Overall I think it was a tremedous result for us because Wolves caused us a lot of problems and many neutrals would probably feel they deserved a point .. we looked like we were going to stroll it after Knockaert scored but credit to them they got stuck in and gave us problems, particularly Sako - can't attach any blame to Kaspar for THAT strike ... also thought Knochesky played very well (not his biggest fan) and that Wes Morgan was MOTM ...
Hard fought win, could prove to be very important. I thought a few stood out last night. i'd be interested to see how many PL enquiries we got for players in our 1st team squad this window. NP would never divulge that sort of information but my opinion, albeit biased, is that kaspar, wes, drinky and knocks especially would not look out of place in many middle/bottom half premier league teams
King was very bloody lucky he came out of that challenge unscathed. Henry did one very similar on Bobby Zamora which resulted in a broken leg, he didn't get a card for that one either. The ref clearly needs an appointment with Florists eye Dr....
I just seen the tackle on sky. Awful challenge and he could have easily broke King's leg. Should have been a red card all day long, Karl Henry is like Michael Brown for Leeds. A **** footballer who runs around kicking people Shocking decision.
I thought DD did a better job, not taking anything away from King, but DD has been one of our most consistent performers, but yet again its all about big Wes Morgan! Can we give him POTY now?
Drinkwater has been quality this season and often he doesnt get the praise he deserves Along with Wes he has been our most consistent player this season
About the tackle Is it just in the premier league or does it apply further down If the referee has taken no action (no yellow) can this be looked at again?
Same rules im afraid. The rules sort of contradict themselves, as the referee saw the incident at the time and didnt deem it worthy of anything more then a free kick I dont think they can do anything And then there is a rule saying if he isnt carded they can look at a punishment for him
Spot on! the were many on here earlier in the season critising Danny! how many would want Wellens over him..... Great team performance and togetherness, which i havent seen sice the O' Neil days.
Cattermole, Henry, Alan Smith (Leeds, Man U, Newcastle), Brown. All same type of limited footballer-turned-hatchet man.
Agree on Henry's tackle- absolutely disgusting, and I'm amazed King didn't come out with a serious injury. Also agree that Wes Morgan was absolutely superb, kept Ebanks-Blake in his pocket all game, Keane looked a bit shaky though, although credit to his distribution. However, I think we really missed James today, as I thought King and Drinkwater both looked a bit anonymous.
Konch did make his customary unnecessary fouls and gave the ball away a bit too often, but he did OK. Glad people are actually watching out for King rather just slating him for not shooting/scoring. He's not my favourite player but I do appreciate the work he does.
If you look at Henry's face as he connects with King, it's as if he's thinking "I'm in trouble here!". But not even a yellow. Madness.
The big question is did King do enough in the last 2 games to keep his place or does Matty James come back into the side when he's fit?
