Why the hell are people criticising him because he has chosen to donate his wages at PSG to a children's charity? Some people will moan at anything! 100% massive credit from me to the man - ok, he isn't exactly short of a bob or two, but that is one hell of a gesture. Anyone slagging him off should be ashamed of themselves
Agree people can make jokes about Posh shopping, but claiming his donating to charity to avoid taxes is a low shot in my opinion. Top man would like to see other footballers do this type of thing.
the only thing that should enter the conscience is 'how much all that money will help those kids'. nothing more to it. people really can be w*nkers sometimes and the only w*ankers in this case are the ones moaning about beckham!
Never been a huge fan of the bloke or his hugely annoying wife BUT how anyone can criticise him for donating a large pile of cash to charity is beyond me. Of course he will get a tax break but unless there is a tax of 100% which has suddenly arisen he is going to be out of pocket. Maybe people are not impressed that he has made it public and it comes across as "look at me, I'm so rich that I can afford to donate all my wages to charity" but even if the need for attention is irritating the gesture itself is superb and he has certainly moved up in my estimation for doing this. Given the huge amount of cash PL footballers milk out of the UK it would be nice to see a few similar gestures although I would imagine that there are a number of players doing all sorts of good works (Drogba's foundation springs to mind) and giving something back without the need to court the press the way Beckham does.
It's mostly bitterness, insecurity and jealously which unfortunately exists a lot these days. If someone in the office is going on holiday to the Bahamas you can guarantee someone will grumble they are being paid too much, weddings in an expensive venue, flash cars, eating in top restaurants, people wearing expensive suits the whinge list go's on. The world would be a better place without insecure dicks. People should be happy with what they've got or focus their effort improving their own circumstances rather then droning on about others.
who is slagging him off??! plebbs on twitter as guess that's ridiculous the guy is a great role-model - other footballers should take note
He is a great role model for the way the game should be played, any one criticsing his gesture is just a jealous plonker
Some people take great joy in criticising Becks for so desperately wanting to represent his country, mainly the same people who criticise other players for having no pride in playing for their country Well done Becks, hope you get knighted in the New Years Honours list!
