It's not about this, to be honest this is all I here and it does my nut in. Newcastle managed 5th without it, Swansea haven't paid big money. We should be talking about bringing the right players in, which dont necessarily have to be "big money"

For those who had doubts about Mon there can always be found criticism.

For those, like me, who still have goose bumps that he's our manager I can only see quality decision-making.

Gone thankfully are the days of the scatter gun transfer policy. Martin has instead highlighted his targets and kept his cool to get them.

You see he is building his team, not just bulking up a squad. Elmo, Campbell, Ji, Saha, McFadden, all gone or going. NDiaye, Mangane and Graham in, he is buying 1st team competing players not just fill in footballers.

In only his 2nd proper full window, his tried and tested format is easy to see. Rose, Johnson, Fletcher, N'Diaye, Mangane, Graham, Cuellar and the like are characters if likes in teams. Lads that settle and bond to make a team.

I couldn't be more convinced we have the right man and after listening to Graham talk yesterday, I have a far better feel for him than I ever thought I would.

If he turned away from some interest from Newcastle, a cup final place and 2 or 3 other clubs to join us then to be fair, he deserves our full backing. That's commitment from him.

He will get it back from me.

January has never been the time for a squad overhaul. It is too expensive and is only ever a time for a few needed additions. We've added a defender, midfielder and striker for less than £10m - a proven PL striker who has socred goals (much like fletcher was) so I'm quite happy. I think Campbell and Elmo were never in the plans for the long termn which is why they've gone - Ji wasn't good enough. We play, normally 1 up top and have 3 strikers - no problems from me there - Happy enough and looking forward to the rest of the season
