On loan for the rest of the season, with view to signing in the summer. On club site now .... http://www.leedsunited.com/news/20130131/habibou-has-the-chance-to-impress_2247585_3060790
Happy with this signing. Gives us more strength in depth upfront and perhaps a different option to what Morison and McCormack will offer Everything I have heard about him, he seems like he knows what hes doing. I just hope he can adapt to the english game quickly enough
Just been up to tell my 9-year old the news as he's been looking forward to this signing all day...... ME - "Knock knock" MINI ME - "Who's there ?" ME - "Habib" MINI ME - "Habib who ?" I'll get me coat......
Proves GFH have no funds though doesn't it: Nunez released Rodgers released Pugh loaned Kisnorbo loaned Taylor loaned Rachubka loaned Thompson loaned Connolly loaned Morison + cash - Becchio Warnock - Free Habibou - Loan
Well played for giving the lad a chance Obviously desperate to move to England seeing as he's had trials at 7 (seven) English clubs in last 2 seasons I bet after League 1 Brighton turned him down last season he thought it was game over!!
It's january. Hardly a great time to attempt to sign players, we'd be paying way over the odds. Yes it's frustrating, but I don't think it 'proves' anything. If we get to summer and we're still not spending money, there's a problem.
Tonge - Cash Barkley - Loan Hall - Cash Just thought I'd add the rest of our transfers as well considering your comparing all of our outs for the whole month to our ins for the last day
Many on here said the exact same thing, well nearly, they said at the end of January, well we are here and GFH have not spent a bean, they have MADE money.
While your right, I don't think we've had a bad January. In fact had we brought in a winger, I think we woulda had a fantastic Month for transfers so thats really the only dissapointment for me. I don't measure our club based on the money we spend but the quality of the deals that we do and I think the quality of the deals we have done has been good (many don't like the Becchio one but I do)
As Josh said, factor in the signings of Hall and Tonge and the presumable loan fees we're paying for Barkley/Habibou and they've probably made a very small amount. I never expected a lot from January. Would've loved a proper winger but hey, maybe there wasn't anyone available that Warnock wanted or there wasn't anyone that represented true value for money.
I don't want to piss on anyones parade and I hope Warnock at LB and Morison make a big difference, I can't see it myself. We were crying out for a winger, we were told we did not need to sell before purchasing, do you honestly believe Morison and Habibou were Warnocks main targets? I remember the excitement by some when we signed Nunez and Rogers IF Habibou turns out to be half decent, if he scores 3 goals the remainder of this season then I will be gobsmacked Last day of the season and GFH make a profit on final day proceedings, 6 months ago targets were the likes of CMS, Boyd and Thomas - Yes my glass half empty, yes doom and gloom yes give them a chance, say what you like, today was disappointing for me, I am just saying it how I see it. I TRULY hope I am wrong and those that are happy are right. Watch this space, we will be selling Ross in the summer, probably only after blaming him for our miserable failings.
