but they've got to keep people watching for the next 3 hrs 51 mins...Damiao deal back on is a better headline for them than well there's sod all happening at WHL.
YES if Jenas is really going then that is outstanding news. The striker situation is truly ridiculous. It's been an issue for years and we've managed in the past few years somehow but it is the major missing link in our puzzle. Sooner of later Levy is going to have to spend. 20mill Euros is just over £16 mill isn't it, just pay the damn fee because it's so obvious that it's what we need. I love Levy sometimes but equally he frustrates me immensely.
This is the thing that almost no-one has considered. If he doesn't score 20 goals in half a season he'll probably be considered a flop.
If Jenas is able to stay fit and can regain the form he showed a few years ago, then he could turn out to be a very good signing for QPR.
i don't belive it either,What Happened to the Bentley Medical he was having at QPR this morning then?
but at least we tried to compete in the right way. we've wasted millions on players like bentley etc. At least the signs are right with Damiao - scouted for ages, wanted for ages, tried to get him for ages and it shows ambition. he's not that expensive. strikers cost this sort of money.
Indeed they do. But as we said ages ago, AVB's ambition is more than matched by Levy's risk management. When we finish in the Europa League spots or worse, out of Europe entirely, this season then I hope Levy has the balls to come out and explain.
I was on hols in St Vincent recently. Great holiday there, but getting to and from Barbados with LIAT Airlines was a nightmare. They are more disorganised than our midfield was in the first half last night - and that's disorganised!!!
Cheers Bajan. I stayed in Hastings which was really nice. Bit jet lagged now. Think I may call it a night and hope to wake up to some major surprise tomorrow, Van der Vaart style!
He would justify it via the new stadium - which, tbf, is a legit reason. I doubt that would wash as well as he'd hope with all of us though - I could accept it if it meant we didn't buy some 'nice to have' transfer targets. But when they're critical, must-haves-or-season-is-effectively-ruined signings then siphoning off the cash for a nice big stadium when we've got no great comps to play in is more difficult to take.
I think a lot of flights go via Barbados don't they Relayer? It's a long enough flight to Barbados but then on somewhere else after would be a real drag although worth it though to see some amazing places! Anyway back to football I wish Levy would be more vocal and explain the situation to us fans at least after the window has closed. I understand for negotiating reasons he wouldn't say anything up to now. We would all have more respect for him if he came out with some genuine reasons why we are ignoring the one area we desperately need to strengthen.
Look, it's clear he's not a striker. But, to me, as little of a striker as he is, he's even less of a CAM in a 4-2-3-1 system. On the other hand, he's scored big goals, and he scores/assists per minute more than anyone on the team, or close to it. Maybe more to the point, in the last three games, it's Dempsey: 2 goals, Bale: 1, rest of team combined: 0. So you can make a case that benching him is the last thing we should do. And since Holtby looks pretty clearly like the new CAM, and Defoe has form and injury issues, what do you think of playing Dempsey at striker anyway? (It's a serious question, not a rhetorical one.)
