    A schoolmate of my son's was hospitalized with cancer (now in remission) a couple of years ago. Beckham spent all day at Birmingham Children's Hospital, talked to every one of the kids. Easy to say well he's loaded it's not much to do, but the fact is many in his position give very little back (honorable exceptions would be many of the African players supporting huge initiatives in their home countries) and he does it very, very well. Top bloke.

    I put something on another thread and although the wages is a good thing (don't all shoot me) i think there is a lot of PR stuff going on with David. Why choose today? because all the world media is about for TDD.

    He has developed very well over the years and appears to be very genuine in everything he does......once he finally hangs up his boots I'm sure there will be plenty of offers of ambassadorial roles for him.....

    Off course there is Ellers......but it's also a huge publicity coup for his chosen charity....they couldn't buy this sort of advertising....

    Look chaps im not a scrooge or against charity (infact i am proud of my poppy day appeal fund raising and my 6 years charity work for a hopsital). I was just saying David choose today for max publicity. And well done on his wages and his work with kids. Back to DDT
