Gillingham have signed Anton Robinson on loan, not what I expected http://htafc.com/ He is on loan for the rest of the season from Huddersfield, this is not what I expected but he has got a lot of experience in the league for Bournemouth and he has experience in promotions as he was part of the Huddersfield team that got promoted so he should be good.I assume that he is a central midfielder but I don't know anything about him really.
http://www.gillinghamfootballclub.com/news/article/martin-on-loan-signing-631345.aspx So no more signings unless that is a lie however I believe this that no more will be signing because we usually announce all signings together so this will be it I think.
I do, bit harsh on Lewis, he was saying that he texted Scally to say someone in the Premiership made a bid for one of our players Scally rung and he said Lewis so Scally knew it was a wind up.
"Lewes Football Club is an English football team based in Lewes, East Sussex. The club are currently members of the Isthmian League Premier Division and play at the Dripping Pan" should slove that one! hope hes a holding midfielder given the number of goals hes scored!
I can't believe that we don't intend signing anyone else...really gutted with that statement put out by martin allen. allen said himself that more players were needed, otherwise we will not be top for long should an injury or two come about. the comment about offering good money but they are quality playersand quality one's are worth more and now the offers have been withdrawn...well surely that's why we should offer more then ?! same old story with scally...he doesn't want to pay the price of success !!! plus he can't be bothered to be here to do any deals...that's how much he intended to do business today for Gillingham fc whats hess doing at the club again ???
Just text a few of my mates who are bournemouth fans and they're saying very positive things about him. They're surprised he didnt join a league one club. Hopefully we'll see why they rate him so much on monday night!
theres paying for success then theres paying over the top for short term success and ending up bankrupt and down fighting with luton in the non league or not being in existance at all. scally has provided plenty of backing in my opinion and clearly appointed hess in his role so he doesnt have to be here all the time to sort thing out, but can be out creating the funds for him to invest in the club!
Disagree , over the last couple Of years he has spent money and given us a great squad , he is still giving Money and we have probs spent most money in the league
Oh I did not read it right, I thought it said what player. Probably trying their luck to get one of our players. Lewis FC won't be happy reading that.
I think Scally is doing right, we don't want to waste money on players short term, it is all about saving money and that is good as then we can judge the players we need next season to build a strong side next season in League 1. Scally has done great for this club and I don't like people putting him down.
The problem is we don't know who the players were and what was offered for them. We never will either so there's 2 things you can assume. 1 the selling club wants too much for a player and 2 Scally want to pay too little for a player. It has been suggested in the past by other clubs that 2 has been the case, but they would say that. Think we are going to be in trouble if we pick up a few injuries and/or suspensions.
To all the posts saying otherwise from my comments, yes i'm p***ed off that we don't intend signing any other players for sure but my point wasn't that scally should pay over the odds, more that shortly we have games most Saturday's & Tuesday's and should we get any player bans or injury's...which i'm pretty sure we will...then our squad will not cope. I seem to remember earlier in the season martin allen saying he doesn't like loan signings...so why sign them, because shortly that's all you will be able to bring in. and hoadie I didn't realise I was putting a family member down regards your last comment...get off your high horse mate you don't hear me slagging your opinion's ! we need one or two more without a doubt to stay up where we are !
What just because I am saying you are wrong, why would we cut numbers to bring in many more. The cuts have been made as they were needed and now we have the right balance if we get injuries then younger players come in and that is how it should be because how will they ever get a chance, if we have loads of players they will never get a chance and then will be released which is bad.
Yeah it is out of order when people run him down and I don't accept that from anyone. After all think about the club it would not be here without him and who paid for the ground. Who brought back Cody on loan, that is all Scally, it's his money so he is a legend in my eyes with everything he has done how can people say things like that about him.
sorry to keep disagreing with people but surely the fact that we have retracted the offers and not spent the money mean that there will be money there to bring in loans if we needed them. not saying they would be the same caliber as the players we were looking to buy but i would expect we still have funds in reserve to cover injuries and to strenghten the squad over the summer with the pull of league one football... ... hopfully!
Whilst it is nice to buy/loan players just for bench warming the reality falls a long way short, how many players have we already got who came from a higher league and are therefor on a high wage. Fair play rules mean we are limited as to how much of our turnover is spent on wages, add another 2,000 on the gate and our ability to bring in more players increases, in the meantime we have to be grateful for the championship level players we have already got. Cody is probably earning the same as 2 or 3 of the players we had to release in order to cover his wage, release any more and we could be in deep trouble.
Yeah quality is better than quantity where did having all them players get us last season no where. Whereas with a smaller squad I am sure we will be able to do better also it is good for the team that everyone gets a chance we had too many players so not everyone was able to get in the team which is not good for morale when people are unhappy.
In general I agree. The problem is that the best young players have been allowed to leave, so we don't have anything like the depth of quality of up and coming players that we had last year when Hess played them with general success after the possibility of even a play-off place had gone.
