I never doubted Henderson would come good and I think Shelvey will be even better, im not sure when people will learn that most young players need time to develop.
I've backed Henderson to come good from day one, a player with energy, heart, fighting spirit, etc is half way there. JH clearly has the ability to match that too, he just needed to learn the game. 100% Lucas II I am not so sure about Shelvey. He is very inconsistent (another common issue with young player) and he can be both brilliant and shocking within the same game. I think he could become a good player and he is younger then JH too
well after not defending lucas years ago i can say hand on heart i have defended henderson at every chance. I think its all about attitude. he's got some faults to iron out but he'll work on them. He's potentially going to be as good as a lampard or platt for england.
WELL IF WE ARE SERIOUS I THINK YOU COULD NAME A 10 MAN TEAM SHEET THEN DEBATE OVER WHO PLAYS RIGHT SIDE AS OF NOW. Can't see allen, shelvey, borini or others getting in. Reina Johnson carr/skertl agger enrique henderson lucas gerrard ??? Sturridge suarez this is the thing; who plays right side.. borini.. eh no.. downing.. poor IMO.. sterling.. raw.. coutinho.. unfit it seems as are all our signings.... i thin we've got wisdom as a good reserve but then after that really we have to look at the reast and think hey none have taken their chance have they? all have let the side down each time.. allen, borini, even sterling, shelvey, downing.... the one thing is at least most have age on thier side eh?
suso is very inconsistent jsut like sterling. both have had thier games and now need to be brought in in march/april when other sides are getting leggy and the sun is shining. the kids need that i feel..
Hendo should be ahead of Allen now but I suspect next game Allen will be wheeled out again despite being to lightweight to be a ball winner
Bit of a confidence boost for him. Playing well and featuring a lot, he deserves a place and proves to him that he is going in the right direction.
----Wisdom---Agger---Srktel---Johnson---- -------------Hendo-----Lucas------------- -----------------Gerrard------------------ ----Suarez------Sturridge------Enrique---- I reckon that'd work.
Let's not forget that BR deserves much credit for the way some of our players are developing. I'm really impressed with him and obviously hope that his work behind the scenes translates into on pitch success, I also hope he's the manager for many years to come (as long as we're competing of course!). If you watch his interviews on YT through his manner and demeanor you can really see how players, particularly younger ones, will learn much from him and get guidance. He balances authority with a warm intelligence and expresses his ideas clearly and directly, apart from a few Rodgerisms. I also like how he uses anything to hand, cups, mobiles, to demonstrate tactics and positions.
Fair enough, I just prefer them not to play for the country to avoid any possible injury. Couldn't give a **** about England compared to Liverpool
Another top notch performance from Jordan against the current champions, following up from a great performance against Arsenal. Not too shabby
