It's obviously not the real McLaren, Paddy stole the real one and took it to Mercedes <laugh>

I'll be curious what Scarbs makes of it, it looks exactly like last years to my untrained eyes!

Well McLaren had the best design last year towards the end so it would be expected that no real changes would be made. The RB8 was not much different to the RB7 and Seb dominated the season even with people saying it was a "boring" which this one is...

Boring = Happy with the car, little things to adjust to make it even better.

A quick observation, the front wing looks nothing like the one they finished the year with. The wings above the side pods are gone too, looks to me that they aren't revealing their hand too soon, quite right too!

There is one difference compared to last year, a pull-rod front suspension!

Yeah but we heard of those rumours days ago on twitter so it was expected, I wanted an F-duct surprise or something!

Is it just me or does the rear look a bit fat?

Except a front pull rod, not much has changed which is a good thing and no steeped nose which is a big bonus.!

Old front wing is back which tells me they have gained more rear downforce and dont have to remove those curved plates to balance the car.

Dont think I saw Paddy there, interesting...

I'm surprised though nobody noticed the new rear wing difference, the winglets at the bottom are just like the RB8 now.

Is that a double exit of the exhaust?

I wonder if we will hear that grumbling noise at testing like with Korea last season, the rumoured steering wheel traction control/exhaust mapping?

And this was the point in time when McLaren were starting to hide upgrades on Lewis' car that were to be used for the 2013 car and young Hamilton had no idea they were doing it.

Personally, this car looks like an absolute dog. Are there actually new rules this year? Because something has got to have made Mclaren revert to an untidy looking mess surely?

Where's the nice clean coke-bottle back end?

If there is something along those lines, they will likely keep it under wraps until the car hits the track at the first test. Too early to show your hand.

It was getting that way last year. :(

Agree with what you said with the Lotus livery would look sharp on the McLaren. That would have been fab!

    Edit.
There's a mockup of last years McLaren in black on WTF1. Fab looking!

Silver... Did you somehow get stuck in your early teens? You seem to be bitter and angry about the smallest things.

Kids... This is what smoking cigars at an early age does to you. :p
