As a club ambassador he will do well along the likes of Captain Marvel and Sir Charlton.

He has trained with us before. Never did anyone any harm. Guy is an excellent professional, and is a great example to our young players.

Say what you want about Beck's and the media circus that follows him, but he's still a top top professional. Never has a bad word to say about anyone, or club. Unless he's talking to a ref of course!

Of course, why should he play for free?

    The other side of it is;

The French league is by comparison to ours pedestrian. Which will suit his more laboured, not so speedy, game now.
PSG also hapen to be in Paris, box ticked for wifey.
They are not an opponent of Manchester United, box ticked for David.
They have prestige and are not ****, box ticked for David.
They are not in some mad despotic country, box ticked for David.
They are in a new league he's never played in, box ticked for David.

You are a bloody cynic - fact.

I am about as cynical as they come so you're not alone in that!!

Don't know. Probably can't stand being around his wife all day.

    Again, not alone in that.

he is going to donate his salary to a local children's charity, so he will be playing for free fair play but how will he afford his bills?

To be fair, any salary PSG offered him would probably pale in comparison to what he earns from sponsorships and endorsements, so donating it to charity is just like donating a fairly reasonable percentage of his overall earnings. Still a great gesture tho <ok>

You also missed probably the biggest reason he went to PSG - I reckon they were the only really decent offer he had. Doubt many top clubs in England, Spain, Italy or Germany would fancy a punt, and PSG are desperate to boost commercial revenues to match spending so they would be happy to have Brand Beckham onboard even if he is gonna be struggling to do the business on the pitch.

Well no, I did mention earlier that it was somewhere new for him, having been to both Italy and Spain so ruling those places out.
I could have suggested Germany but me mentioning the less frenetic pace of French football was my tip to that, German football being pacey and powerfully like ours.

This is obvious man, I shouldn't need to spell it out!!

He's playing for free, massive gesture from an immensely wealthy man. The spin off will benefit both him and the club but he's still allowed to earn some money.
The wages going to children charity, he has soared in my estimation and I am an arch cynic. He's plucked at the right strings with me there though.
(today being my daughters 1st birthday, I'm a soppy ****er really you know)

Yeah, got no doubt I can see a role at United for him. It'll be commercial, but a role all the same.

    Club Ambassador I'd imagine.

He did say he wants a stake in MLS in the future, ownership I'm assuming.

Aye, but you're talking about where Beckham wants to go to, I'm talking about where he could actually go to. Given the only English clubs reported to show interest were QPR and West Ham, it's a fair bet PSG were the only CL club to make him an offer, and possibly the only club playing European football. The new league, Paris, nice country etc probably made the move very easy, but I think the days of the top clubs in the top leagues wanting Beckham are past now.
