It's nothing to do with your right to an opinion. It's to do with the way you conduct yourself.

"Clam it you divvy" was in your first reply to me. And then you follow it up in that other quote with "i won't let such crap be posted without a response" as if somehow it is your responsibility to tell me off for having a different opinion to you.

Feel free to share your opinion in a constructive way - i enjoy having people with differing opinions to debate with - that's what makes a forum interesting. But you need to work on your childish behaviour. No-one will listen to anything you say if you sound like a toddler throwing a tantrum.

Why do certain posters on this forum not understand that politeness, or at least the avoidance of insults and obviously rude behaviour will lead to a much better discussion and much more respect (and in return time) from other posters. When your rude and ignore what people are actually writing you just end up not being worth the effort.

I know this has nothing to do with me but it would probably be best if this thread was closed.

Once again, good game. Good luck in getting the champ league spots, look forward to seeing you next year <ok>

    What did I miss?

Another pleasing evening from Giroud, but two incredibly frustrating goals to give away. Henderson deserves lots of credit for his work for the second though.

You can say that again. The first one in particular was hideously bad.

The second one rankled for me. There were plenty of men back, but they seemed to stroll around nonchalantly. Only Ramsey made any effort to win the ball as far as I could tell.

The fightback was great, but it's always going to be hard to understand why it takes going two goals down to ignite such a reaction.

Yeah, I think the first one was irritating even though it took a lot of lucky breaks for the goal to go in. Sagna should have stayed on his feet though, there was no reason for him to cut as hard as he did. He had time.

The second one was just plain bad luck. How does that ball bounce perfectly for Henderson like that?

I actually think we started quite brightly, but again we shot ourselves in the foot with a series of defensive errors and again we were left chasing the game. I thought Mertesacker had one of his worst games in an Arsenal shirt last night and when Gibbs went off I feared the worse.

Take nothing away from the MF and attack though, they were brilliant all night and were very unfortunate not to get their reward with 3pts. Other than the defensive errors, which we can put right, it was a decent performance.

But we simply MUST DEFEND BETTER

We must defend better, we have been saying that for a while now, doesn't look like it's going to be happening anytime soon, at least against the big teams.

We've had 3 games now against 3 good teams, City, Chelsea, and Liverpool, and in each of these 3 games there's been a common theme of poor defending, and that simply shows that when we come up against good opposition, we're going to struggle defensively.

    God help us against Bayern.

I think it's something that's in our ability to put right, so let's hope we do just that.

It worries me the difference between the start of the season, when they were keeping clean sheets, and now.
Maybe there is something in the stories of Bould not being allowed the time to coach the defense properly.

The start of the season was never an indication of things to come, I remember telling everybody to keep calm about the first 3 clean sheets and let's see how we do over time, sadly my pessimism on the 3 early clean sheets turned out to be correct.

We've shown over the past few games that up against good teams, we will fail to defend properly. Heck, even against teams that are not so good, we still fail to defend properly as we saw VS West Ham and Brighton.

I don't think it's going to get any better either, for Arsenal the problem of defending is not an individual problem, except for Santos because he is utterly **** and cannot defend. It's a team problem, we just don't know how to properly defend as a team and to keep our composure.

I don't think any coaching would help with some of the stupid mistakes we are making at the back.

Some mistakes are unavoidable individual ones, but the consistency with which they happen at Arsenal makes me think (and it's just my personal opinion) that there isn't adequate defensive coaching happening. Merts has settled this year, but Vermaelen looks off-form, and hasn't really progressed as a defender since he arrived. Kos has been confined to the bench, but doesn't look strong when he comes on.

My opinion is that all 3 are very good defenders, but the back line isn't working as a unit. Chesney looked very vulnerable last night at times too. Compare that to Liverpool, who yes conceded the same amount, but looked stronger at the back and less likely to concede. They dropped into 2 banks of 4 when under pressure.

I understand that both teams conceded the same amount, and there was a mistake that left Theo unmarked, while Giroud got ahead of his marker. But they were individual mistakes rather than collective ones.

I don't think any defensive coaching would stop the rediculous habit our defenders have of passing the ball to opposing forwards.

Haha!! Maybe one of those games like they have in Men In Black where you have to shoot the bad guys with the guns, but not the women and children? You could have your teammates and evil opposition players. They'd slowly learn to pass to the right ones.

To be honest Cym, our defensive unit sometimes doesn't do the simple things right. The most obvious one is clearing the ball. When under pressure they tend to panick and hand it straight back to the opposition, or when a defender can simply header it back to the keeper, they try and pass it out. It's sometimes their decision making that is faulty and should be dealt with on the training ground. If they can iron these things out then we will be a more consistent unit.
